Also why are Australia and New Zeland two countries? Are the cultural differences really that great?

Actually New Zealand was supposed to be part of Australia federation / dominium, but opted for no.
Anyway:
Israel.
USA too, to think of it.

Heraclitus is wrong, the southern catholic german states should join Austria, and Hungary should join them too.
And Slovenia, to get acess to the sea.
Slovenians will surely abandon their language in favour of German.
