Default unified chargers for mobile phones: its micro USB
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/02...ndard_charger/

Sometimes companies do things right, I really don't see the issue with the low cost headsets as the charger itself could be left away which is a much bigger cost factor than the connector.

Finally. Different chargers for different phones is annoying.

No. Apple uses only the finest umbilical cords from unborn fetuses.

The plug on them is proprietary I believe. I was playing with my uncle's new iPhone over the weekend. It was pretty cool. Useless to me, but still.. it was cool.

I don't understand why Zune and Ipod/Iphone can't use Micro USB? Do their own plugs do something special?

I love that my PS3 Dual Shock charges via any USB port.

I hate, that my Nokia E71 doesn't.

Yeah, they charge through the USB. They support stuff like analog audio through the port as well as accessories like FM transmitters, etc.

Also the connector has been a standard for them for many years now and were thinner than the USB 4 pin adapters that were around at the time. While it is a proprietary connector it has stayed the same on all of their iPod/iPhone products.

True. That is very convenient. Most households everywhere own some kind ipod/iphone/apple machination.
