Not Liking To Talk On The Telephone. A Sin?

I try to keep things textual. I like my mobile phone more for the fact that it provides me internet everywhere, rather than as a audio communication device.

I generally dislike talking on the phone as well. I'd much rather talk in person, or via email... on the phone I think has none of the advantages of talking in person (no ability to read facial expressions and such) and all the disadvantages (no delete key).

http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...milies/lol.gif I agree entirely.

I'm in a weird subset here. I actually like talking on the phone -- which is good, not only because it's an important part of my job but because I don't live near any of my friends. But I hate making phone calls -- that is, initiating the phone conversation. I'll talk on the phone for hours, but I'll put off making the call for as long as possible.

Eventually, there will be powerful psychotropic drugs to help me with this problem, provided I don't mind side effects like intermittent blindness and sudden limb loss. I look forward to that day.

You have had phone sex with your family and friends?

I didn't know you were into that sort of thing.

I ****ing hate the ****ing phone. I'd be happy getting rid of the damned thing entirely.

Hate phones, use it only when necessary.

Nothing worse than having a meeting with someone who constantly allows interruptions from the phone. I can sometimes understand it with sales people, but generally I find it incredibly rude.

I dont mind talking on the phone if it's a friend but I will go miles out of my way (literally) to avoid it, if otherwise.

The phone is essential for business for teleconferences and for the times when at least 3 exchanges of emails have occurred and there's still confusion/misunderstandings. Calling is the most direct way to address that.

But phone is a last resort thing. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif

I like having one, as it makes my job easier, but I hate talking on the phone.

My cell is important because it allows me to talk anywhere. I can talk an hour or two with the right person but usually my calls are short and to the point. I hate texting. I do it because others I know love it but after the second or third text, I'll call. My ex has many conversations at once by texting and I hate it. There are people she knows only through text with no verbal communication at all. To me that is disturbing.

That's just batshit crazy. Actually making conversation using text messages is a waste of time. Better to just make the phone call and be done with it. It's cool if you just need to ask a small question or if you don't need the answer right away.

It's cool if you just need to ask a small question or if you don't need the answer right away. She has intimacy issues. Text takes most if not all of it away. If she doesn't have to see or hear the other person she can handle things better. Like I said before, it disturbs me greatly. She will text me about the kids or about something that is bothering her but when I call she doesn't answer. It is infuriating as hell.

She isn't the only one i know like this.
