Default Schwarzenegger: $4.4B in tax hikes to cut deficit
This is what happens when you run deficits even during good times.

Sounds like it's time for Proposition 24 (loosely based on the true story of Proposition 187).

And when you are California. Actually some really good news happened last tuesday. Prop 11 passed which took redistricting out of the hands of the politicians. That was a major problem because the two parties conspired to make ultra safe districts, so safe in fact that only 1 incumbent has not been reelected (if they ran) in the last five elections. Most districts are currently split something like 80-20 so only extremists ever get elected and the primaries are just a battle to see who can be the most extremist.

Prop 11 should ungerrymander districts and make candidates rush back to the center or get knocked out of office.

Of course he wants to raise the sales tax instead of rolling back the massive cuts in the state income tax. Or property taxes.

I like Arnie, but that is the dumbest idea I have ever heard. Where's he getting his economic advice? Kid? (just kidding Kid).

Seriously though, you DO NOT RAISE TAXES DURING A RECESSION. Cardinal sin.

They'll probably go bankrupt raising taxes (and cutting spending don't forget).

As long as surf boards and inflatable boats are available, all is well.

Seriously though, you DO NOT RAISE TAXES DURING A RECESSION. Cardinal sin. Raise taxes or cut expenditures (since deficit spending isn't an option). Same net effect on the economy.
