Default The Russell Brand/Jonathan Ross/Andrew Sachs Affair
So what do you think about it? It's getting a lot of press coverage here. Even the Prime Minster's got invovled.

I think its pathetic that the PM felt the need to go wading in - but thats a whole different discussion.

As for the prank - clearly over the top IMO. They were basically egging eachother on, and the whole thing went too far. Then again, Brand does rather have a history of sailing close to the wind. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. This situation was an example of the latter.

Indeed, its just the next big thing for the news reporters imo! Also this talk over "They should both be fired"...nah, it was a joke. If anyone is to be fired, its the programme controller who allowed it on air.

Agreed. Brand and Ross are well known for treading a fine line but, to be honest, they're not the only ones that should be criticised here - what about the show's producers? It wasn't a live show so they could have stepped in at any time and stopped them. However, the media and politicians have gone totally overboard on the matter; most likely due to needed something to keep the spotlight away from the financial doom and gloom.

I'm glad that our taxes pay for Jonathan Ross's pay packet, I think he needs more money infact.

Also Brand is possibly the most unfunny, offensive **** on telly.

I hope Brand goes down for this.

He's not funny. He's got the worse fashion sense ever. I mean serious, emo jeans, bad hair. And generally just a down right idiot.

After hearing a few bits here and there, two people should get fired:
  1. The BBC man who passed this to go on air
  2. Russell Brand
I feel a bit sorry for Jonathon Ross, I don't think he's as guilty as that other plonker.

But WTF with the PM getting involved? Can he please get back to attempting to run the country??

I just can't stand Jonathan Woss so I'm jumping on the bandwagon and calling for them to be sacked. I think you'll find that's probably what a lot of people are doing. Obnoxious little oik uses his Friday night show for shameless self promotion. You can tell half the guests just want to plug their product then get away from him as fast as possible,

I don't know what all the fuss is about and I don't think that either Ross or Brand give a damn about it. Brand is bigger than the BBC now.

I'd just like to join the other voices in the this thread and announce that television, radio and indeed the world, would be a better place without that massive **** Russell Brand.

Reading this it seems like they're both as guilty as each other to me.

I had a listen to the calls again and I take back what i said - Jonathon Ross is as guilty as Brand.

[thumbdown]

Still, back to the PM - he is due to face questions about it at PM question time apparently - I am sorry, but surely the UK finance issues are more important to the public than 2 larks doing bad pranks???

you know what this is don't you guys....

its a ploy to take the British eyes off the current financial melt down.

brand can go blow it out his arse IMHO.

but I wouldn't want to see johnny Ross get canned over this, because hes the only one who's apologized to the parties involved

i thought brand appologised but ross didnt.

i have no problem with either though and find them both pretty amusing.
