Zombie McCarthy raised, begins apocalypse in Minnesota

I love how Tweety kept pushing her along that route and the dumb broad just kept digging herself in deeper. Bachmann has always been an unpleasant person, but this takes the cake. I especially love how after the interview, even Pat Buchanan had to shake his head at the crazy.

Among the chief reasons I have personally heard people to be against Obama is that he is anti-american or that they aren't sure he is american.

I would think there is a theoretical difference. Supporting regimes that use un-lawful wire taps and incarcerations in foreign countries being (theoretically) "un" but not "anti" American, whereas supporting a regime with those qualities within America would be "anti" but certainly not "un" American. However, the fact that they are used interchangeably means the difference is pretty moot.

And the reason these sort of charges can be leveled in America is because there are different groups with different ideas of what America is, and what it means to be American. Since the groups have different conceptualizations of what America is, a member of one group can call members of another group "un-American" and the other members of the caller's group will agree.

Also, to anyone: can you do strike through text on this board? The normal tags aren't working for me...

Bachmann (R-inc) 42
Tinklenberg (D) 38

And that was from the two-three-four days before she made the news with her fascist rhetoric.

Two Months ago:

Bachmann (R-inc) 40
Tinklenberg (D) 27

Those, incidentally, are the only two polls conducted in the race all year.

JM That's a run of the mill tactic. Didn't you know that if you aren't a Republican then you're anti-American? Sarah Palin loves that sort of rhetoric too saying she loves visiting the "pro-America parts of America"; I.E. red states.

Elwn Tinklenberg has reported that he has raised just shy of a half million since his opponent appeared on Meet the Press, the DCCC smells blood and is also expected to contribute. I think this one will go to the democrat and will be go down in history as a one of the greatest self-pwning of this election cycle.

As an unamerican I can tell you that there isn't enough of us. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/doitnow.gif

This is a strategy that some republicans will turn to now. It's the Nixon road.
