They have The Day the Earth Stood Still. I bet their parents told them it was a good movie.
I Am Legend isn't better than Omega Man either. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/tongue.gif ACK! |

I thought it was an interesting film, mostly visually though. The plot was pretty mediocre, but it was probably new to a lot of people.
|
The problem is that most people have an entirely inaccurate definition of 'sci-fi'. (Hence this list.)
SF is defined by a certain kind of story, not by the presence of robots and lasers. In one sense, ESOTSM was quite SF. In another sense, it wasn't. Hence why I don't strike it. |
Blade Runner http://www.discussworldissues.com/im...ons/icon14.gif
Also, the original Vanilla Sky was good. (Not the US remake) |
|
There is something else missing off there too that should be blatantly there, but I just can't place it...
|
Wasn't ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND that film about a brilliant socially inept mathematician? I think he was played by Crowe.

Where is Voyage Home? Wrath of KHAAAAAAAAN!? I'm dis-appointed.
Planet of the apes was grand, also... As was Soylent Green. "Soylent green is damn dirty apes!" Forbidden planet? Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning? http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/frown.gif |
Soylent Green, yeah, that's the one I wanted to place!

And where's Waterworld on that list? http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...milies/lol.gif

Blade Runner and 2001, definitely.
For your consideration: Contact Brazil A Clockwork Orange Charly Men In Black Galaxy Quest I, Robot Enemy Mine Repo Man Hellboy Minority Report Total Recall Slaughterhouse Five 12 Monkeys Cocoon The Abyss A Scanner Darkly Robocop The Fifth Element Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy |
Not enough earlier films on your list, -Jrabbit.
|
Have you ever seen the movie?
|
The Fifth Element is your #1 http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/stunned.gif
|
Nah, for Sci-Fi I'd have to rate the original Matrix as my #1. It was the first film that I really thought about the concepts in the film, I was only 11 when I first watched it.
