Default Good luck will come your way, eventually...
Hey Onions,

Just thought I would share a story of my experiences over the past 4 weeks of my life. It details an immense string of bad luck and how life manages to find a way to balance out in the end. It's a long story, but read on if you're interested, as it truly is karma.

About 4 weeks ago a tree fell on may car and the insurance company wrote it off , and so I was in the market for a new one. The payout figure was next to nothing, and with fuel prices as they are the purchase of a new one really put me a bit out of pocket... however I was happy with the new car I got and that was that. Nothign special but it does the job.

A week later my girlfriend and I began looking at rental property in town. We are first time renters so there was no doubt we were in for a tough time. We certainly were, we had probably about 3 weeks worth of rejections, one after the other. It seemed as though every place we had our heart set on seemed to always be out of reach. Because of the rental crisis over here at the moment, you can guarantee there will be 50+ people per property wanting it just as bad as you do... and with no rental history we were pretty much always never considered. [surrender]

Last night at midnight I was driving along in my new(er) car (remember a tree fell on my last one), when I realised some colossal asswipe had thrown blue house paint all over the road... and of course it was too late for me to stop and so all the paint sprayed all over my white car!! [cursing] ...so I spent the next 3 hours at home with a hose and bucket of hot soapy water washing all the paint off before it dried (never got every last bit becuase I cannot reach everything).

So here was I having my car written off by nature, having been rejected for 3 weeks running for rental property (which is not too long, but still depressing considering it appeared as though nobody was going to give us a fair go), and now I had my replacement car covered in blue paint. I said to myself that I was not really going to get angry becuase I felt karma in the air. I knew that soon enough some good luck will find its way to me if I kept an open mind and remained patient.

This morning I get a call from 2 real estate agents, both who tell me the owners understand me and my partners position and willing to give us a go!! [thumbup] So we had a choice of 2 properties to live in! Not only that; it rained this morning washing away whatever left over semi dried pain was around the bottom of the car!

So here I am, at the end of a day filled with good luck, and thinking to myself: well, in the end things do work out.

I hope you enjoyed that story I wanted to share.

Nice to hear![thumbup]

Problem is that "eventually" can take quite a while

Your car thing really sucks Matt! I'm not sure if I could cope with those things alone. Having things ruined twice over is not good.

Right now I'm looking for a new place to rent, and I've only been living in this place a week. Lets just say I'm not so thrilled with my new house mate and vice versa. However she is the one that needs changing. I've obeyed her rules as much as I can. But she now starts to stick her nose in on how I run my bedroom, that's just not on.
I hope I don't run into too many issues like you have as I only have a month.
