Default Stabbing for GTA4
The other day I went up to the counter at my library and asked the lady, "are you the Great Librarian?

So games do influence us at some basic level.

Um, no.

The movie or concert has a set start time. If it starts at 9:00pm then 9:15pm is no good to you.

Video games can be played whenever you install and feel like playing. Not if you're in the GTA4 "first to 100%" contest...

GTAIII and beyond is a melding of popularity among the game buying public and massive critical praise. I'm not the only one who considers the GTAIII series to be some of the best games in history, and plenty of those are gaming critics.

I once lived in Croydon. It's a bit of a craphole to be honest, although I had the best address I've ever had.

Seems to be lots of issues with the games so far, with the game crashing and freezing for a good word.

Mostly with the PS3 version, specifically 60GB PS3s.

I'm not the one excited about GTA. Being excited about one of the most critical acclaimed games of all time is a bad thing? I wonder what people would have said if they found out you were excited about CivIV?

I'm sure plenty of folks in the 60s thought the Beatles to be "cultural crap".

I can see redeeming features of the Civ series. Not so with GTA. Just because you are blind to it doesn't mean everyone is.

I do like CivIV, but I have yet to see a review describe it as an example of video game as an artform as I have seen with a major publication's review of GTAIV.

The fact that you compare GTAIV with WWE shows you completely lack of understanding on the issue and how out of touch you actually are.

It's like comparing the Beatles to Barney the Dinosaur's songs and considering them equivalent culturally because you don't like the Beatles.

You develop standards as you get older. Some day (if you are lucky) you will understand.

Heaven help you next time you criticize ANYTHING for I will throw this argument back in your face.

I happen to enjoy many aspects of pop culture (including some of the crap parts) but I can be honest enough to admit it is crap.

I try to have reasons to look down upon things, and I try not to look down on things that are critically acclaimed, but my personal preference doesn't enjoy it (like the movie "The English Patient", which I find dull, but is very critically acclaimed... it just isn't my cup of tea, doesn't mean its crap).

The problem is that you've taken your own personal viewpoint and decided that's the be all and end all of cultural determination, regardless of the critical acclaim or social importance of the work. That is what makes you an arrogant ******* about this.

As I say, I don't want to see you expressing one in the future b/c you will be subject to the same accusation.
