Greetings in the Lord!
In relationship to a course in my Master of Library and Information Science studies, I am seeking articles from any published source that would in any way touch on the role of readers in parishes and their training. 1) I am NOT restricting myself to tonsured readers. It is the function, not the order that I am going to be discussing. In many parishes, women (and men who have not be tonsured) read on a regular basis. 2) Articles or references in books could come from any source at any level from the local parish on up. This could also include internet resources, though articles are to be preferred. 3) The piece could refer specifically to a training or organisation plan; OR it could be a piece of spiritual or other kind of advice. 4) It can be from any time period, but it would need to be in English (or Spanish or German). My Russian and Greek would not be good enough to read an entire article. If It were very short, I might be able to get it translated, but… 5) I need the item BY this coming Saturday. 6) I have no library or other immediate access that I am aware of to get Orthodox journals. Therefore, I'd need to have the article scanned and e-mailed to me at markah@u.washington.edu. Please also send any other correspondence on this matter to this e-mail address. I realise that this is a lot to ask. I should be eternally grateful to anybody who came through. Best wishes to all! Subdeacon Mark Harrison |
