Default Strange question...
Ok, I'll probably come off as a bit of a psychopath here, but I used to have this weird thing, that has recently came back for some reason....let me explain!

Often, when I touch stuff, I have to touch it with my other hand/foot, like if I tap the edge of a door with one foot, I then have to touch the door with my other foot, the worst thing is when I'm going to bed, say I turn my light switch off, if I don't touch the switch with my other hand, I often go back and do it just before entering bed. Don't get me wrong, I'm not like this with everything, or all the time, but it's a little....weird, I know one person in the world who also does it (A girl I know), wondering if anyone else has this strange....whatever it is...[rofl]

Exactly what Gabber said. I do that too, though it was worse when I was younger.

Yeah I thought it was probably something like that, interesting as my nephew seems to have a pretty serious case of OCD from tests done on him, is it a genetic thing?

That is Tony Shaloub from Monk. He is a highly OCD detective.

as a kid if i found myself fidgeting with one leg or arm i would 'have' to repeat the same movements with the opposite limb.

I blame this on a cartoon i saw (may have been popeye) where a character got all pumped up from doing weights but only on one side. I too is mental

the thing is - they can grow. 1'st its just touching doors or lamps. Next thing you know - when somebody sneezes - you slap your face & head 4 times, You can never leave your house because you cant touch the doorknob, you hear an accodion and have to cover your ears and start babbeling, or when you hear a car honk or a bell- you need to bite somebody. - then the next thing you know - you are dating some american giggelo running from the man-hore killer,

Reminds me of that scene in Friends, where Joey gets the job in with Ross in the museum.

"Before I leave a room, I have to flip the light switch on and off 24 times or my family will die"

[rofl]

I suffer from that OCD ****, and it really pisses me off now. I cant go to bed unless I have checked all the windows are shut at least twice, the gas fires are turned off properly (even though they havent been turned on for nearly a year) and Im like a friggin yo-yo checkin those proberbly about 5 times each backwards and forwards, and then that all the doors are closed. I then check that there are no plugs "hanging out" of the sockets which could start a fire, and then I'll go check them again.....

It takes me about 15-20 mins to get to bed every damn night lol but I just cant get out of the habit of doing it I must be paranoid that the house is going to set on fire whilst we are asleep or something

OCD

Back when I lived with my parents all the light switches had to all be facing the same direction. I would walk room to room even backtracking in the dark to ensure that when all the lights were out all the switches were in the same position. I have other things I do, but I can't think of them right now.

OCD isn't a disease. I have it, and a bad case of it. I'd reckon to say a lot of people on this forum have it. Over-Clocker's Disease, otherwise known as "OCD" should be seen as a gift! Smart people who want the most out of their computers!

....

What?.... Obsessive Compulsive Disorder? ...... Never heard of it.
