Default Best digital camera for £100-£150? (gift to gf)
Hey this place never fails when it comes to gadget/hardware recommendations so I wanted to ask which digital camera I should get my gf for her birthday? She got a shitty one last birthday but it was terrible and the flash was horrific, all images are saturated with white light and its pretty much unusable so she wants a new one. Requirements:

1) Should be nice and small/compact. Will be taken out a lot so big and bulky is a no. (The smaller the better really but not at to much of an expense in quality)

2) Should take good quality pictures

3) Should take very little time to process the image once it has been taken. Her last camera took 7-10 seconds. 1-3 seconds is ideal.

4) Should be between £100-£150 GBP.

Ideally would like one people have personal experience with, but will listen to any and all suggestions. Thanks guys!

Where is she going to be using it the most, if it is mainly in low light conditions, then I recommend the Fuji F30 (I haven't actually used one, but it seems to get a lot of good reviews):

The F30 isn't bad in day light, but there are better cameras out there if that is what you are mainly going to be shooting in (but you probably won't find one better in low light, in this price range).

Thanks for the reply. It will mainly be used in pubs/clubs I would think, althought will still be used in the daytime to I'm sure. The F30 does look good, the other one I had found was this one:

Fujifilm FinePix Z5fd

http://www.microwarehouse.co.uk/catalogue/item/FUJIC140?speedtrapid=pricegrabber&lead_name=priceg rabber

Had a lot of good reviews and while slightly technically inferior to the F30 by the looks of things it is quite a bit slimmer and more compact, and pink is always a plus lol (she has pink hair straighteners and a pink ipod )

Also, I found the F30 at this place for half price (£66), not sure if its legit though although it does look like it. Anyone heard of it before?

Halfmania looks dodgy to be honest, you need to complete a number of sponsered offers and there is a typo in the terms and conditions

Also I've looked around and can't seem to find the F30 in the UK at the moment, not for any kind reasonable price anyway. Thinking the FinePix Z5fd might have to be the one. Haven't found a single bad review and while it isn't made out to be the absolute best in image quality the price/performance/size ratio is very hard to beat.

Anyone have a glaring reason why I shouldn't get this camera?

Fuji seems to have replaced the F30 with the F31 (which is much cheaper).

Ah I had seen the F31 on my travels looking for the F30. So, it is a vastly better camera than the Z5fd that I linked to earlier?

I can get both of them for the same price (£130-£140), so money is no longer an issue between the choices. Its just whether the extra weight, size and depth of the F31 (not that much but it is quite signficant) justifies the extra quality? Particularly when the other one has the 'looks' to which to a girl is obviously quite important.

What do you reckon perfectmark? And what do other people think to?
