The problem is myself, and most polytubbies are not normal and don't listen to popular music. They listen to strange music.
Although PJ Harvey is not pop I know. I liked her mid 90's stuff. but she lost the heavier sound. ![]() I think this would be a lot harder too. I think I could name a band that it would be impossible to link her too. Anal **** (auto censore is annoying, the second word rhymres with runt) |

OK here goes:
From Anal **** to PJ harvey - exactly 6 degrees of separation: 1. Seth Putnam of Anal **** guested on Pantera's "The Great Southern Trendkill" 2. Pantera covers Black Sabbath's "Planet Caravan": 3. Black Sabbath's "Hand of Doom" is covered by Slayer. (No video available) 4. Tori amos covers Slayers "Raining Blood": ![]() 5. Tori Amos plays the harpsichord in a live version of "Unravel" with Björk: 6. And finally... Björk sings the Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction" as a duet with PJ Harvey: Whew.... now that was HARD! ![]() So, the next artist to start with: Fiona Apple ![]() And please be a tiny bit more gentle this time around. ![]() |

Fiona Apple covered Cat Stevens' 'Father and Son'.
Cat Stevens' song 'Peace Train' was covered by 10 000 Maniacs, who also covered David Bowie's 'Moonage Daydream' David Bowie co-wrote 'Fame' with John Lennon and Carlos Alomar, and Alan White performed in John Lennon's Plastic Ono Band, but was also in Yes...whose lead singer was Jon Anderson. Fiona Apple-Cat Stevens-10 000 Maniacs-David Bowie-John Lennon-Alan White-Jon Anderson Darn. |

Do you mean George Roy Hill?
Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he studied music at Yale University under notable composer Paul Hindemith, graduating in 1943. He served in the United States Marine Corps as a cargo pilot during World War II and a night fighter pilot during the Korean War. Hill got his start on television, directing such episodic series as Kraft Television Theatre. His first films were versions of such Broadway plays as Period of Adjustment in 1962 and Toys in the Attic in 1963. George Roy Hill is most noted for directing such films as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and The Sting, which both starred the acting duo Paul Newman and Robert Redford. Other films are Slaughterhouse-Five, The World According to Garp, The World of Henry Orient, Hawaii, Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Great Waldo Pepper, Slap Shot and The Little Drummer Girl. If not, then he doesn't have a wiki page. |

OK, here's the solution for the current round:
Jawbreaker -> Johnny Cash 1. Jawbreaker covers "Pack It Up" by The Pretenders (only an audio sample available): http://www.last.fm/music/Jawbreaker/_/Pack+it+Up 2. The Pretenders covers "Something To Believe In" by the Ramones (no video or audio available) 3. The Ramones covers Tom Waits' "I don't want to grow up": and finally: 4. Johnny Cash covers Tom Waits' "down there by the train" (audio clip only): http://www.last.fm/music/Johnny+Cash...e+by+the+Train ![]() Artists for the next round then... connect these: The famous song writer: Cole Porter ![]() ...and the punk-cabaret duo: The Dresden Dolls ![]() This might be a little more difficult as the Coversproject site won't help you on The Dresden Dolls' end. For linking The Dresden Dolls with more widely known artists, I recommend searching YouTube... ![]() |

Yeah... Beatles seems to be a real "hub" for linking artists. ![]() Hmm.... What do you think? Should I add a note onto the first post saying something like "resort to the The Beatles only if you can't find another path (as everybody and their brother has covered The Beatles)" ? My post was only part-serious (after all this is a game, not that it really matters). I stated on the 1st page all roads will lead through the Beatles and the subsequent links have all(?) included them. They are an easy link for most artists since they covered many songs themselves and have been covered by everyone and their dog since then. |
