I mentioned my find of the Streamlight flashlight in the OP to a friend and he directed me to a 800 lumen flashlight for $50 shipped he recently acquired from this outfit, fwiw - http://www.ptpproducts.com/index.php...lashlight.html
It says ultrafire on it, which means it's a dx flashlight. If that's what you want, better to order it directly from dx:

If you get a ceramic blade, then get the black kinds, not the white ones. The black ones are the strongest and most durable.

He was referring to the 8,500 lumen monster led 'flashlight' you could most likely start fires with.

Well I'm uploading the video now. It's the brightest, small, flashlight I own. Should be done in about 9 minutes.

OK here's my crappy review.
I can illuminate the inside of my neighbors' 2nd floor rooms from over 100 yds away. lol Of course I didn't do that for very long, just long enough to go, "Oops!"

I've bought quite a few dx flashlights, and they pretty much are all as bright as they claim to be. The key thing is, how reliable are they, and how long do they last? Another thing is, if you leave these on for more than 5 minutes they will get hot and potentially damage the led or disconnect a solder joint.

I did a review on you tube. I had my kid record it on my iphone so the quality isn't the greatest, plus I moved the flashlight around too quickly and he had a hard time following it with the camera, but here it is....

Maybe someone can embed this for me...

if you don't want people hiding from you at night, you should seriouisly consider something in the night vision line, picked up a monocular sometime ago and it's great, I can distinquish the gender of someone probably 75 yards away, in total darkness...you can't hide

My brightest flashlights are 200 lumens i could use better out in the fields after dark.

Night vision would be awesome too so i could see what is really behind those pair of yellow eyes in the cattail sloughs staring back at me. Deer, coyote or ?

I like playing around with mine at night, you can spot roaming cats or Anything else moving around, and with 5X power, I can see really good out to a couple hundred yards
