Free Music FOREVER

Part 1 - Sign up for Sirius XM trial, do not give them your credit card #. it is deceptive but you can get to the main 'Flash' menu (written in Flash) just using your email & password.

https://www.siriusxm.com/player/#vie...annelId=big80s

Part 2 - Download & Install Camtasia, free 30 day Trial.

http://www.techsmith.com/download/camtasia/default.asp

It's pretty easy. You just do "Record Screen", this thing pops up that you can re-size plus a thing for audio. You have to make sure you're recording the audio. For the video I just use the Siriux XM web page.

Camtasia renders the webcast to an *.mp3 or a *.wav.

I like "80's on 8", all '80's rock.

It's not like next week's 80's rock will be any different. The decade is closed, they're not writing any new 80's songs. maybe they'll unearth some secret ZZ Top recordings or something http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/smiley.gif

anyway, when you're all done ... free ad-free tunes FOREVER. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/smiley.gif

Sirius will bug you to sign up and the Camtasia software will expire. But the rendered *.wav & *.mp3 files will last basically forever.

Alternately, one could use torrents and PeerBlock.

Or, you could just borrow CD's from friends and rip them to .mp3. No 'net trail.

Not that I would ever do anything so immoral or illegal... yeah. That's the ticket. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/wink.gif

Seriously, though... I actually BUY music from artists I respect and want to support, I believe in trading value for value, and I've received a great deal of pleasure from much of the music I listen to.

I do the same. I have purchased several albums and singles that could have gotten by cheaper means http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/wink.gif . Usually albums where you can see they put a lot of time and effort into the writing and recording and >1/2 the tracks I would consider good.

Not the case for those groups or singers who continually pump out album upon album with complete filler and one marketing supported "hit"

While you guys are hacking xm you should listen to Mike Church on 125 in the morning. He is the only radio guy I'll listen to anymore and I think he is well worth it.
