The parents aren't forced to. There are legal routes to give up custody so that the kid becomes a ward of the state.

What exactly has the poor girl lost by having this procedure.

Nothing at all, in fact she is more likley to be cared for longer by the people who love her the most.

The correct answer is House would find the real diagnosis for the developmental disorder and cure her. Or Foreman accidentally kills her while the other two have sex.

Given that we can't talk to her, and that she'll never experience life with her ovaries and without hormone injections, one realy can not know.

You mean, given that she can't talk to us, walk, regulate her excretory functions, or even have any awareness of what an ovary is, let alone does, other than the limbic system effects of hormone secretions, one really can't identify any harm done by the procedure...

Unknown either way, I'd expect, since there's a lot of motor function issues. Even without the surgery, she wouldn't be capable of arousal in the mental sense, so what would someone do, experimentally diddle her to see what the motor response is? It could end up being something irritating/painful, or nothing at all.

What's the relevance, either way?

The question was, what has she lost? And I pointed out that it is her ovaries that she has lost. How this impacts her life is quite another question, and not one that can be realisticly answered. Everyone will simply project their own thoughts and opinions on to the subject. And anyone with an ounce of common sense would ahve realised that the question of loss was taken to mean what would she lose in terms of her quality of life or quality of future life
