However fundy he was raised for a few years as a child, it doesn't make it a fundy now.
There are plenty of people who wouldn't feel comfortable voting for a candidate who spent four years of their childhood being brainwashed into the most reactionary and fundamentalist Islamic sect around, just as there would be plenty of people who wouldn't vote for a candidate who was raised in one of those crazy snake-handling evangelical Christian sects. |

People forget that Wahhabis weren't all that prominent in the Islamic world a few decades ago. They're a relatively recent trend, and I doubt that more than a few such schools existed in Jakarta at the time he was there. He also spent a couple years in a Catholic school in Jakarta.
