The FBI has told the BBC that there is no indication that the crash is terrorism-related.

I patiently wait for Che to claim it's an obvious election ploy by the Republicans.

Reminds me of the suicide of Charls Bishop
who commited suicide in 2002 by steering a small plane
into a Bank of America building.

The scale of this event was what I was first believing when I heard about WTC on the radio 2001. A Cessna or something.

And Cory Lidle was confirmed to be the pilot, and is confirmed to be dead.

Fox News reports it was Al Queda, the operative screaming "Death to America!" so loudly that dozens of bystanders overheard.

[badtaste]

Inadaquate Yankee's pitching staff, being blasted too many times with old insult "you couldn't hit the broad side of a barn" finally snaps.

Hey, dumbass:

There is no confirmation of fatalities in the building. (edit - there's one, other than the pilot, according to FDNY) All indications are that the crash was accidental, due to mechnical failure or possibly a combination of mechanical failure and pilot error.

The apartment building is a friggin' block from the East River, so it ain't like it's in the middle of Manhattan. The plane was reported to be turning when it went out of control, lost altitude and went into the building.

There's also nothing to indicate that the plane was out of its designated VFR route until the pilot reported problems with the plane to (La Guardia?) tower.

I suppose Hong Kong is denser. If youre over the east river and are turned west, it would be hard NOT to hit a building. If you have an MS flight sim, take a look. Or do a google earth on upper Manhattan (the part east of Central Park).

Hmm, which to trust... Winston's "common sense", or the facts of the case. Man, what a tough choice....really, terribly tough choice there.

You hit a building like that right in the center, horisontally, and it is no accident. A little common sense will go a long way toward this realisation. winston, if the plane if flying at an even, what is it, pitch yaw? its gonna hit horizontally. Right in the center? Do we know the spot to the inch were the nose hit? Its as likely to hit in the central third as in, say the left third.
