I'm currently sitting in The Edgar Wallace (pub I frequent in London) and I've just enjoyed a delicious meal of medium rare sirloin steak, chips and salad. Having a steak cooked that way is so delicious. Up until recently I've always had my steak well done; I had no idea what I was missing! Now I need to try it rare. Yum!

Well cooked steak is rubbish, you might as well just have a burger. Different cuts of meat lend themselves to different cooking times. Fillet tastes better rare IMO and rib-eye medium-rare.
If you really like steak then go to a Gaucho steakhouse. The steaks are amazing and they give you advice on how each cut is best cooked. Service can be a little slow as they are always so busy but well worth the wait. http://www.gauchorestaurants.co.uk/ |

No pics huh? [thumbdown] ![]() Also, I wouldn't want to look odd taking pics of my meal in the pub (it's a small pub). Now I'm in the British Museum (members' open evening, my reason for travelling to London tonight) having a latte. Then I think I might head off home. |

I was in the Gaucho's in Eindhoven a few months back with my work. One of my colleagues ordered her steak "blue" and the waitress did not know what she meant. |

No not the steak, but that you had your meat the proper way. We can discuss medium rare, medium or blue.. but at least now you tasted the proper juices coming from a tender piece of beef. Now, it's getting warmer outside.. should look into BBQing ! [thumbup] |
