Default Top Gear (Christmas Specials)
Well i dont know how i missed it with all the advertising but Tuesday nights special got away from me...

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May compare the Mercedes SLS, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the Ferrari 458 Italia in an epic road trip up America's east coast. So just catching up on BBC iPlayer now [thumbup]

Plus...

The Top Gear Middle East special airs on December 26 at 8pm on BBC2

I caught the Eastern America special the other day and I loved it. Jeremy was such a tool with the SLS [rofl]

All in all a great episode. Best of the current series imo but from the intro of all that is to come there is gonna be some seriously awesome stuff on the horizon.

5 minutes of this show were more entertaining than 4 eps of TG USA.

All the stabs at Stig were great !!

It was a quality episode, probably the first time those cars have been used in drive by shootings.

Much prefer the sound of the Ferrari, or the Porsche in that episode. Some of the mercedes AMG v8's just remind me to much of the blat sound a Harley makes. All flat tone with no variation. Just loud.

Ehhh.. this episode wasnt all that great. The best part was when they were in the studio showing off gifts, and then lights went out and they had to light candles.

We all have seen those cars in the past shows, so its wasnt all that new or wow.

And i was expecting a high speed drive by, none of that crap at 3mph.

Yeh, but they didn't tell tales on their friends to make a buck....

Apples and oranges - you're comparing two different things.
"Stig" was under contract to remain unknown, not to reveal who he was and JC isn't.

DM, they just tell tales (and lies) about each other as part of their job, as you say.

As for the show, Hamster was darned lucky he stopped short of the barrier, as he was certainly motoring when he lost it! Would also have liked seeing the GT3 lining up with the other two for the drag race...

My point was that Ben Collins was telling tales on other people to make money, I don't see anything in JC's / Hammond's / May's books giving away secrets on others to make money.

I did get that bit - also liked the way Hamster turned the 'Stig' signs so he could shoot them in the back

Ah, I thought you thought I had said that they all lie about each other.

The three main presenters tell deliberately silly little, obvious porkies on occassion, nothing serious. Adds to the show, IMO. [thumbup]
Like James marrying his boyfriend (he's had the same girlfriend for ten years) or Hammond and the teeth whitening, etc.

Oh right, that's called banter and is the staple diet of any good drinking session with your mates.

Those that turned off in disgust - good f***ing ridance!
They obviously weren't regular viewers - unless they were Collin's parents!

Agreed. Honestly I thought it was downright brilliant. One of the better episodes of the past few years. I was on the floor for most of it.
