Default Online Harddrive
Do any of you use an online hard drive service? I'm looking for something that you can map as a network drive in windows and preferably OS X as well. Does anyone have any service like that that works well? Preferably not to expensive.

If you can settle for about 3GB you could always sign up for gmail if you havent already and use the gmail drive shell extension to use the space as an online hd, the shell extension puts an icon in my computer just like an actual HD

3gb doesnt seem like much but its absolutely free

How does that overcome the 20mb attachment limit?

I guess it splits the files into 20mb parts and auto rejoins them when you download them.

I'm not sure if .Mac works for windows but it seems to connect really tight with OS X and I think they're trying to make it even more of a part of the OS.

"• Many versions of Windows-based and Linux-based computers can access your iDisk or any Public folder using WebDAV, the Internet-based file sharing protocol which iDisk supports. Although the steps to connect may differ from one operating system to another, the address of your iDisk will always be the same: http://idisk.mac.com/username/?view=web where the username is your .Mac account name. For more tips on how to connect to your iDisk on Windows-based computers, please see the Help section of the .Mac web site."

I refrain from using online hard drive services because the Internet would explode with that much porn I upload to a single source overnight.

Mozy, Amazon S3. Mozy is a backup solution that has an agent on your system so in theory you don't need to remember to back up anything, and S3 is more like what you're looking for.

I would say give the free 60 day test drive with .Mac to see what it's like. You don't get a lot of space while doing that but it'll at least give you an idea if it works well with windows and stuff, if you love it I think it's only like $99 for a year and you get like 10Gigs or something.
