Yep. It was 2 blocks down from where the wifey works, it was confirmed to be a bomb and it partially hit the prime minister's office, but he's reported to be ok. The chaos is huge downtown and they closed off the entire central part of Oslo.

Some pics:

Yeah she's fine, just scared and on her way home, she says their office literally shook from the explosion.

She's with her co-workers and she's far away from the area luckily - she's more worried about the bus not showing up due to the roads being blocked.

If you’re asking who’d want to hurt Norway, Al-Jazeera reports “Norwegian prosecutors on Tuesday filed a terrorism charge against Mullah Krekar, founder of the Kurdish Islamist group Ansar al-Islam.”

Also, here’s some background on a 2010 plot against Norway: “Three people have been arrested in connection with a plot to bomb targets in Norway, police in Oslo have said. Two of the plotters were arrested in Norway and one in Germany, said the head of the Norwegian security police, Janne Kristiansen. The men – a Uighur from China, an Iraqi and an Uzbek – are said to have ties to al-Qaeda and to be linked to bomb plots in the US and UK, Ms Kristiansen said. The three, all Norwegian residents, had been under surveillance for a year.”

Jesus Christ man, get a grip of yourself for the love of God. The incident is over and she is safe. Stop flapping like a middle aged woman!

The Scandinavian countries got troops in Afghanistan. Could be the reason. Not long ago we had a suicide bomber here in Stockholm.

Despicable. Only religious fundies could be so off their rocker that they'd want to attack a country like Norway.

Ummm, what? You cannot detect "tone" through text. I am just fine. I was merely trying to show concern.

Heard that about there being more bombs but it seems to be BS. The police just gave a press conference saying they don't expect more bombs, like 5 mins ago.

WoW!! that was no small bomb.. I do hope that not many were hurt but as big as that explosion was it's hard to imagine that it will only be a few people. I really wish these sort of things would end in our world.
There were casualties, but it's unknown how many
