Default Live Action Role Play
Who here besides me does this?

If you don't understand the concept of it, it's basically DnD WoW etc done in real life using boffer weapons and and bird seed packets for spells, your characters level up and you get newer in game abilities the catch is you have to have out of game abilities such as running fast jumping dodging fighting with a sword etc in this way it levels out power differences between a high level in game character and low level character with skill.

Entertainment wise for $35 a month I get 2 days in a cabin with meals furbished and around 36 hours of gameplay time with minimal sleep involved.

I used to in highschool.
It was a lot of fun, we had a huge open field in the back of the person we had the events at house so it was good for all sorts of events.

It's still fun, And i mean for the price i can either buy 2 dvd's ill only watch once or I can be apart of another life story once a month. The action is always at top pitch and the role play is chilling, funny, exciting, scary, dramatized, unscripted, etc

I once tried to start a "nerd war" between the gamers and the larp'ers. Even though they already had foam weapons we had the paintball guns. It would have been epic...and given them some extra larp time.

This does sound rather amusing, but all of the thought aside, would it be the equivalent of beating the crap out of each other with non-lethal weapons?

But, if I had the money and time I'd might give it a try, assuming I can find a group near me that is.

No its not just beating the crap out of eachother with nonlethal weapons, Sometimes we peg eachother in the face with packets filled with birdseed . No in all seriousness the boffers are all safety approved and the rules only allow a maximum 90 degree reach back for the swing so the chances of any real injury are relatively low.

Alot of major larp groups offer free events to newcomers, and most still even offer freebie events to volunteers that play monster/noc roles as well.
