The obvious answer is love. Love is the most pure thing I can think off. Everything else is very dependent on another emotion.

Love is pure? And NOT dependant on other emotions? |

Lust and fear, I reckon.

Don't they say love conquers all things?

hope brings about love, anger, sadness, and so on and so forth

I'm only trying to take into account the original factors mentioned by Snake on the first post. With what the question gives, I made my answers. without the need for ant external factors. Sadness was just a small suggestion, but not part of my answer.

If what you're asking is what the strongest emotion is, I believe it to be love. If you truly love someone, you can overcome your fears, sadness, and it only enhances your joy. Love is a driving force that can overcome all other emotions.

They all have an equal amounts of good & bad. And they can all be the bst if used in moderation.

I would have to say the emotion of the branch off of excitement which is Love.
Love is by far something that everyone that is a teenage feels; whether it be true love or sexual love. |
It's very important to define your terms. I see a lot of people who (jokingly) post feelings, not emotions. Things like sleepyness or excitement are feelings, not emotions. I feel that generally emotions are filters which we view reality through. Like colored lenses that help us to grasp depth in experience. Example.
That lame song from titanic comes on, my friend and I are in the car. He starts to cry, and I start to laugh. The song reminds him of something presumably "sad" while it makes me "happy" both emotions. Now the song is the control in the experiment so we must ask ourselves. Is the song happy or sad? Well it isn't. The song is reality and my friend and I filter the interpretation of the song through our past experience and ultimately our emotions. Thus, to provide a jerk answer to your question.' Emotions are not pure, they are distortions of reality so we can better attach meaning to our experience. This gives our reality a dimension of depth that otherwise would not exist, and it is awesome. When speaking in terms of purity though, a simple awareness of nothing is purest, as it is not, again, distorted by our chemical processes or our mental interpretation of our feelings and experiences. |
I guess if a purist had to be described by a single emotion, it would be happiness.
