Is Trujillo's car in a museum anywhere?

The one he was assassinated in. Wondering whatever happened to it.

I toured the new museum last week or so, it's not there - only pictures. I believe at one time it was in a museum in Plaza de la Cultura but the building was closed for renovations.

That's not it - the car he was travelling in was a pale blue and white 57 Chevy Bel Air and its whereabouts are unknown. A collection of his cars are in the History and Geography Museum in Plaza de la Cultura in SD, where the photo posted above was taken, and in Camp David ranch outside Santiago. But the car in that particular photo may be the one used by his assassins.

Two are in Camp David...

The million dollar question. Nobody seems to know, and if they do, they're not talking.

The most common answer I've run across is that it was repaired, sold, and was used for a "concho" for many years before it ended up as scrap metal.

The car in the picture is allegedly the car used by the assassins that night.

The cars in Camp David include a couple of older Cadillacs used by Trujillo, a 70's model Caddy used by Balaguer, and an old jeep that was said to belong to Ramfis Trujillo.

There is also a 1957 Chevy that is identical to the one that Trujillo was assassinated in, but is not "The" car.

That would make more sense, given the condition of the car. Maybe it was stolen or appropriated during the fuzzy time afterwards.

They refurbished it and put it to use as a Publico in Santiago. It is the one with the cracked windshield on the Estrella route.

Trujillo's car was quickly disposed of immediately after his assassination, in order to avoid a forensic examination that would lead to the conclusion that the holes in the automovil were produced by random shooting into the body of the car, while Trujillo''s body laid inside the trunk, already dead.
