Default Is it true,"Once a Cheater always a Cheater
Is this old saying true to the letter,or is it really possible for a cheater to be sorry for what they did and will never do it again,or will it be easier for them the next time seeing how easy it was the first time,if the time you know about really the first time they cheated.I think if a person finds it possible for them to do it begin with they will eventually do it again.

well, every situation is unique and so is every person.

That said, if someone can break his/her commitment in the first place....well...it shouldn't be a surprise that they could do it again. Cheating is not a mistake -- it is an active and conscious decision. If a person's 'character' is such that s/he will cheat...then it's very likely that s/he will cheat again...and again...should the person want to.

It is niave to think that a person will never be tempted to stray...but being tempted is a far cry from actually cheating. The person who cheats, clearly suffers from a lack of character.

Yes, in my opinion, once a cheater always a cheater.

Even those that make the decision to never physically cheat again, its still in them deep down that they'd like to f##k someone else, they just choose not to because of what they stand to lose.

Just because a cheater stops cheating doesn't mean they lose the desire to and would love to if they knew they would never get caught.

Nobody will ever convince me that if someone that has cheated, and vowed never to cheat again, and made good on that promise....but then were on a business trip or some sort of trip hundreds, thousands of miles away where they could get away with a one night stand....they'd do it if the opportuinity presented itself.

So while a cheater may abstain from in, they still wouldn't mind doing it....they just don't want to lose what they have. Cheater by character.

I'm usually pretty hard on these folks. But, I do think some cheaters change and feel remorse. I think cheating, while one of the more egregious abuses, is not really much different than many other sins we commit in terms of a person learning from it and stopping. There are, apparently, many folks that have only done it once, from the stories I have read.
Folks can change and be better people.

My cheater husband found he got away with cheating the first time (unknown to me that he had) so he did it again with someone else, also without me knowing. Now that I found out about his cheating I dont know if he will do it again but I see the way he still tries to catch the eye of other women so as the earlier post said, that they still have the desire to cheat, but are now aware of what they could lose if found out. The pain of cheating doesnt leave you, it only lessens with time.
