I'm calling the story a 12 on the bullshyt meter of 10. No names, state, ages, date of win and the guy's expression is like a fat kindergarten pencil was just shoved up his exit hole. Sorry.
Now a couple of years back the Powerball was $200 million ($105m cash payout / $63m after Uncle Sugar). It was my Dad's birthday who in his day liked playing the Powerball (and maybe a couple of scratch tickets on his birthday). So I brought $5 of the computer picks in his honor. However, had the guy at the quickie mart suggested I play "my" numbers I would have. (Yeah, I'm blaming the guy behind the counter at the quickie mart for not suggesting I play "my" numbers along with the computer picks.) Anyway that night "my" numbers were drawn (my Dad's birth year -dropping the "19" part - for the Powerball number, then for the other 5 numbers my birth month and date, a friend's birth month and date, and then the sum of the birth month and date of another friend. The next morning when I looked to see what the winning numbers were I stared at the computer screen for an hour kinda sick to my stomach. No joke. |

Can you believe it? Give the guy a year. I bet in one year, he hopefully will still have most of his winnings, and perhaps will be a lot healthier as well. ![]() |
