Hey she just had a big fundraiser that the Obummer's attended.
President Obama visits Sarah Jessica Parker's Manhattan brownstone for elaborate fund-raiser This is one fund-raiser that Carrie Bradshaw would love. The first stop on President Obama’s latest fund-raising stopover in Manhattan was the West Village brownstone of Sarah Jessica Parker, the actress who made Bradshaw’s "Sex and the City" character famous. When the President and First Lady arrived at Parker’s Charles St. pad Thursday evening, she gave him a hug and a kiss, and called Michelle “our radiant and extraordinary First Lady.” He joked about his fund-raising schedule, putting it in “Sex and the City” terms, saying it was his “date night” with Michelle. ![]() After viewing the guests seated at a pair of long tables spanning a pair of long rooms, with dividing doors open, the pool reporter wrote: “There were many attractive people seated at the tables, but your pooler sadly did not recognize them.” A few the reporter did recognize: actress Meryl Streep, fashion designer Michael Kors and Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who served as co-host, supervised the decor and was described by Parker as “unstoppable.” President Obama and his wife Michelle after landing at JFK. (Todd Maisel/New York Daily News) One celeb was notably absent: “Matthew had a show,” Obama told the gathering, referring to Parker’s husband, actor Matthew Broderick. The pool reporter was impressed with what Parker had done with the place: There was “ample” art on the walls, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, a pair of marble fireplaces. The fireplace mantels were adorned with flowers, and so were the tables, which also had votives — Wintour’s touches, perhaps. ![]() Trombone Shorty, a jazz/funk musician from New Orleans, performed. Obama, fresh off an important economic speech in Ohio earlier in the day, gave what appeared to be his usual fund-raising talk — a summary of the campaign’s key issues as he sees them, peppered with rhetorical flourishes. He spoke about how the economy was recovering on the strength of American grit, and he described the differences between himself and Republican challenger Mitt Romney. President Obama leaving the fundraiser. (Bryan Smith for New York Daily News) There were light moments. One came when he spoke of how his administration had bailed out the carmakers in Detroit. “GM is now back on top,” he said. Parker’s young son clapped at the statement. “He wanted to fire up the crowd,” Obama said of the boy. “He knows an applause line,” added Bravo’s Andy Cohen, laughing at the President’s quip. “Right on cue!” ![]() And there was at least one moment of good ’ol partisan sniping. Obama, whose second fund-raiser of the night was scheduled for the Plaza Hotel, made a reference to Republican attacks that blame him for the nation’s continued economic woes. He said they’d spend $500 million on ads against him; they’ll say the country is frustrated, fed up. “It’s the fault of the guy in the White House,” Obama said, finishing the GOP talking point. “It’s an elegant message — it happens to be wrong. But it’s crisp. You can fit it on a bumper sticker.” Police had barricaded off the block, which drew a crowd — and a smattering of Occupy Wall Street protesters. Some, peeved that the President was raking in celeb cash, chanted: “Banks got bailed out; we got sold out.” Protester Aaron Bornstein, 31, of Fort Greene, Brooklyn, voiced his displeasure. ![]() “It’s not a fund-raiser; it’s just trying to get famous people to amplify him,” he groused. All those who are now worth $40,000 less would surely beg to differ — even if they could spare the cash |

Edward Bernays said they would use celebrities and other socialites to sway public opinion in their favor. They have been doing it for a LONG time. That is what the entire Obama facade is: A CULT of personality.
One of Bernays' favorite techniques for manipulating public opinion was the indirect use of "third party authorities" to plead his clients' causes. "If you can influence the leaders, either with or without their conscious cooperation, you automatically influence the group which they sway", he said. In order to promote sales of bacon, for example, he conducted a survey of physicians and reported their recommendation that people eat heavy breakfasts. He sent the results of the survey to 5,000 physicians, along with publicity touting bacon and eggs as a hearty breakfast. "He helped shape public relations by favoring the use of endorsements from opinion leaders, celebrities, doctors and other "experts" to strengthen the arguments his clients wanted to make. In addition, he favored surveys, releasing the results of experiments and polls to make a better case for his clients' positions and products," reported the New York Times Bernays also pioneered the PR industry's use of psychology and other social sciences to design its public persuasion campaigns. "If we understand the mechanism and motives of the group mind," he wrote, "is it not possible to control and regiment the masses according to our will without their knowing about it? The recent practice of propaganda has proved that it is possible, at least up to a certain point and within certain limits." (Propaganda, 2005 ed., p. 71.) He called this scientific technique of opinion-molding the "engineering of consent." We are living in a nightmare where the Matrix (Propaganda) and the STATE (Violent FORCE) have been married and are now inseparable. It is the Statrix. |
