Flibbertigibbet was a good one. I heard that one quite often as a Mormon swear word.

-------------------

As kids we had a lot of fun with the somewhat racist name... Nikki Nikki Tembo No So Rembo Oo Ma Moochi Gamma Gamma Goochi

Also Mary Poppins was one of 3 movies we had on disk, so naturally supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

Contrafibularities - a fine Blackadder word.
Weltschmerz - I like it because its a bit like schadenfreude.
Whoopsie-daisies - a self-explanatory choice.
Scapa/Scarper - to "flow" on from skedaddle.

Sesquipedalianism will fit nicely in this thread
And on 'Hot Buttered Soul'. Well, almost: "Hyperbolicsyllabicsesquedalymistic".

I hope you allow place names.

I've always liked Ootacamund, often shortened to Ooty, because it's the kind of thing you can imagine someone dying for a dump saying when they eventually find relief.

Or not.

Polyphant- the Apolyton retirement home in Cornwall.

Borth- ennui at the Welsh seaside.

I like medical terms too:

pemphigus

seborrheic- (the Irish-Croatian long distance runner)

fumarole- a snack especially for smokers

gaberlunzie

cranachan

fissiparous
