What's the deal with you bringing sports subjects to O.T. when people in Sports tell you that you're full of crap?
Does the opinion of the uninterested and uninformed mean so much to you? It obviously does, since you do it so frequently. OK, great unwashed, give Al the support and love he needs so desperately. |

The Chevy ad with the Silverado's surviving the apocalypse was funny. Yeah, that one was amusing, especially the line about the ford owner.
I liked the Ferris Bueller one also. The morning paper panned it. The over produced prohibition Bud ad was boring. Ditto for the through the ages ad. They should just stay with the cute and funny ones. Who doesn't laugh at a sheep streaking. And the dumb dog killed the cat doritos ad made me laugh. |

Ming, did you notice this transition in advertising during your career or education? In the past, there was good and bad advertising Currently, there is good and bad advertising In the future, there will be good and bad advertising There have always been commercials that tell nothing about the product. However, one thing I think we can all agree on... If you can't remember the product, it's not a very effective ad ![]() |

The product type can also be problematic. From my understanding, Old Spice commercials are extremely memorable and generate high consumer awareness even to the product, unlike these ads in question, but don't change preferences maybe because product loyalty in the deodorant market is high. I suppose, though, those ads because of their juvenile silliness are attempts to 'aware' new users, such as teenagers (this would also be line with the nature of Axe commercials), it's just not affecting consumer preferences in a tangible manner. Your stolen theory of institutionalization is just that... a theory, and a bad one at that. And if you see marketing/advertising as a waste of resources, then you really are showing how stupid you are. But that's really no surprise, since you continue to prove your lack of knowledge with just about every post you make. By the way... how's the girl friend hunt going? |

As with most things, you have no clue what you are talking about. For those who aren't asses: it was Carroll Quigley who I was thinking of and slightly modifying his theory from "The Evolution of Civilizations". |

There's definitely some truth to that, Alby. And if people don't remember the product, it is by definition bad advertising. Unlike other adds, they went out of their way to show the product and I had no problems remembering it. |

Yep, my car is on it's final legs so maybe that made me more observant.
