I think he is well off (housekeeper), and this definitely is an eye opening way to get his point across. With it going viral, it might actually fetch more on ebay now. I wouldn't have done it, but I still smile at it.

Not the same personal impact. And based on his stuttering I'd say he was still extremely pissed off.

You could see his hands shaking when he was holding the paper, he was livid.

Wonder how much time took place between that video and when he found the post and printed it off. I'm going to go with less than a half hour between discovering the post and starting the video.

I would agree, it seemed very impromptu.

He's not incredibly eloquent, but did get his point accross. Hopefully the stupid brat does indeed learn her lesson and he doesn't get into trouble for it

well done to him.

Can totally sympathise with him, as last night my son was at a friends and when they went to the shops, they were accosted by a few chav's, my son had his Blackberry 9800 in his hand at the time and one of the chav's pushed into him and his phone skidded along the ground out of his hand and into a puddle, it's now laying in a bowl of rice in the vain hope that it will absorb the water inside of it.

My g/f sold her own iphone and a netbook to get that phone for him, which he totally does not appreciate her doing.

His own netbook died because he would not shut it down correctly and used to just switch it off via the off button, despite me explaining dozens of times that this was bad for the Hard-drive, but kids of his age, 13, are absolutely f*cking retarded these days and don't or won't look after the things their parents buy for them, if he'd had to save up and buy things for himself, then he might look after them better, but he doesn't, thus he will have to go without his Ј5 a week pocket money for the next 6 months or so before we can get him another blackberry, albeit not as good as the one that he had. I think that guy is crazy dangerous. He is totally overreacting. Teenagers have been under appreciating what their parents do for them for quite some time now. I think this guy needs serious anger management.

Did anyone notice that he reacted to a spontaneous, immature reaction on the Internet with a... spontaneous, immature reaction on the Internet?

The video is cool, that is by far the smartest man I have ever seen in a cowboy hat.

Zedd, assuming this is in Texas, is that even legal?

Ouch, he did look like a man who'd worked hard his whole life and had had a guts' full - an over-reaction, perhaps but I bet he got his point across.
I hope he isn't too surprised if the daughter earns the money on her back...

When my sister and I were kids, we were a bit spoiled for stuff we needed, but if it was something that we just wanted, we'd have to earn/save half of the cost and the parents would match it - taught us the value of stuff and also that some of the stuff we wanted wasn't worth it.

I absolutely see it as the same but I didn't want to rain on zed's love train for the guy.

I'm not sure you're right on this. For starters, pressing the power button on nearly any computer produced since the mid 90's initiates shut down and doesn't just turn things off.

Also, I think hard disks these days park themselves if you turn the power off. Theoretically it could do some harm but it seems a bit fair to blame it on this as computer components die all the time.

My personal feelings on the matter are that parents shouldn't give their kids any computer / mobile phone / other piece of sensitive equipment that they can't afford to take a loss on. These days, things just don't last as well as they used to as we live in a more disposable culture and however much you badger him to do it your way he is going to have to learn to do things his way and make his own mistakes.

My dad is an irritating nag who constantly repeats himself about doing things how he wants or it's wrong, yet I've still to have a problem doing things my way. If he makes an error he'll learn from it and he won't resent you for constantly telling him what to do when it isn't really necessary.
