Default DIY near infrared sauna
I actually made one of these on a hunch years ago while researching far infrared saunas. Can't remember the exact price, but it cost less than $50 for sure.

Cheap, effective way to detox. I didn't bother with the enclosure, as I rigged it up in a small spare bathroom. Hit up the hardware store for the bulbs, ballasts, and framing etc... One stop shopping.

Definitely get some good sweats. Very relaxing. Apparently near infrared is better due to less EMF compared to far infrared.

There's no ultra violet light emitted. It's all low frequency wavelength light which produces heat. No tan.

I built one using these emitters: http://www.promolife.com/cart/saunas...wCat&catId=208

It's a one person built in far infrared sauna with aspen lined walls.

What an interesting concept! All the ones I've seen are really pricey, so it's nice to know there may be an alternative. I also want to point out that Dr. Wilson has a lot of other good health information on his site.

Interesting. In my summer house in Sweden I have a wood fired cast iron stove in what used to be a kitchen but is now a bathroom, I was just thinking that maybe I could build an enclosure around the stove and thus create a sauna in the bathroom. The bathroom is big enough!
