Default "The Simpsons" to come to an end?
Difficult bargaining is nothing new for the show, which was created by James L. Brooks and Matt Groening. Fox studio execs have occasionally threatened to replace uncooperative cast members with sound-alike actors. But for the first time in nearly a quarter century of haggling, the executives have insisted that if the cast doesn’t accept a draconian 45 percent pay cut, The Simpsons will die an abrupt death as a first-run series. http://www.thedailybeast.com/article...nning-hit.html

Pretty shitty if true. The Simpsons doesn't exactly hold the pull it once did ten years ago, but it is still a great show and watched by millions. I'd sure miss it.

LONG overdue....
This show was great and should have ended on a high note but instead it continued and has reached a point where the show is so watered down/boring compared to its glory days... Putting this show to rest is like putting old yeller to sleep.

I imagine FOX wanted to pay cut the voice actors because it's not making as much off the Simpsons as it used to, who knows. 8 million a year payments to the voice actors is a substantial amount of money where they are right now.

The simpsons started when I was in high school. I'm in my 40's now. It is time for it to end.

I have always loved the Simpsons, but they should have killed it 8-10 years ago. It no longer contains any of the things that made it a great show, and it's frankly sad to watch the newer episodes. Many are just rehashes of older episodes and no longer have any wit, which has been replaced by cartoon'ish gags that seem out of place.

Thank ****, i really hope it is cancelled, i'm sick and tired of the crap they are pushing out now, I don't think i've laughed at anything in the show for the last 10 years... it's about time.

Well I thought Seasons 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 were really bad, and then they started to get better again. But they never reached the greatness of seasons 3 to 8 again. Now they have a good joke every now and then, or sometimes a whole episode is pretty good. But they're very far away from what the Simpsons were in their prime.

I think they should have ended the series after season 10 and collected all the good ideas to make a movie once every couple of years.

The episode mocking Apple's "Be yourself" mantra was classic.

When the show was in its prime, more two parter "Mr. Burns" episodes would have been good, like where Mr. Burns blocks out the sun. I always saw him as the Simpson family's direct nemesis.

IMO this should've happened years ago.

I think they need to make only one fourth of the episodes of the simpsons and futureama as they do now.

the quality suffers from the quantity

woooow, wait a minute, if any show barely has any good jokes at all itīs Southpark.
That show just thrives on cheap jabs and profanity.

I think some people have just outgrown the Simpsons, thatīs fine, but remember thereīs always a younger generation and i for one donīt want my kids watching sh!t like Southpark.

I don't want my kids drinking alcohol, participating in car races, or having sex either*. But I think all these are a given seeing how they're activities meant for adults.

Disclaimer: I don't have any kids. Lost them while we were running with the bulls last year

The producers have already accepted their cut. Just the voice actors, and they will still make multi-million dollar paychecks for a few minutes of voice acting each episode.

Even if they do agree to this, there will only be one more season. Season 25 is supposed to be the final season.
