Congrats! Get ready for some sleepless nights and make sure you do your fair share of night feeds, she'll love you for it, since your poor missus has probably just been through hell! [rofl]

My wife is amazing - the delivery itself took about 40mins, and she ad no pain relief. The whole labour process took barely 6 hours. She is currently up and about like nothing happened.

Jesnson kept us up last night until about 03:00 - lots of crying, but then after a feed at 04:00 he slept through until 09:00. We are both bloody knackered. Having the nurse here for 8 days is so helpful, plus my folks turn up tomorrow for one week.

Despite suffering badly from lack of sleep, I could not be happier. Jenson is sleeping on my lap as I type this

Sounds like my wife, we went in early morning, she had just gas and air and by tea time we were at home with our baby. Quite an intimidating situation, to suddenly be sat in your house with this tiny baby who relies on you for everything, it took a couple of days for it to sink in tbh. I spent so much time just sat there staring at my baby, with a stupid grin on my face.

Strange as well, incredibly hard work for first few months until you get into a routine, tired all the time, constant feeds and changing, lots of crying, masses of visitors, but you don't care, you still end up ridiculously happy and smiling all the time. Then you realise you'd go to hell and back for this little thing in your arms and that's why none of the hard stuff matters.

Enjoy the baby time while it lasts, it was one of the happiest and most surreal moments in my life, and before you know it they're running around calling you daddy! [thumbup]

same here, ~40min, no meds
what surprises me is that you guys get to go home the same day ?
Over here its the norm that mother and child stay in the hospital for a week just to make sure everythings o.k.
I guess thats just our health system at work
