The first trailer of The Dark Knight Rises premiered at the midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2. Taken from http://popwatch.ew.com/2011/07/15/th...-trailer-bane/ , Edit4, official trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apMXFloDH6M
"It kicks off with a montage of scenes from Batman Begins, with Bruce Wayne walking over the frozen tundra while Liam Neeson narrates his speech about becoming “A legend, Mr. Wayne.” “Every Hero Has a Journey,” say the intertitles. “Every Journey Has an End.” Cut to: A shockingly intimate shot of Gary Oldman’s Commissioner Gordan, lying on a hospital bed, breathing through what appears to be an oxygen mask, speaking in a tremulous voice. He tells someone offscreen — it’s pretty clear that he’s talking to Batman — that people believed in him, but then, suddenly, “You were gone. Now there is evil rising. The Batman must come back.” From offscreen, Christian Bale’s voice — and this sounds specifically like his Bruce Wayne voice, which could indicate that Gordon has figured out Batman’s true identity — says, “What if he doesn’t exist anymore?” Gordon, sounding like a man who hears his own death rattle: “He must…he must…” There’s a quick shot of Tom Hardy’s Bane in his weird mask which literally looks exactly like that photo from a couple months ago, then a long shot of buildings collapsing which literally looks exactly like that poster from a couple days ago, and then the real attention-getter: A single shot of Batman, braced for a fight. Bane steps into view. We only see him for a second, from over his shoulder, but he looks huge. For the first time in the Nolan Batmen that I can remember, the Caped Crusader actually looks a bit scared. (The shot only lasted for literally 2 seconds, but I could’ve sworn Bats was wearing a new outfit.) A final title promises, “The epic conclusion to the Dark Knight legend,” while terrifying chanting plays in the background." http://popwatch.ew.com/2011/07/15/th...-trailer-bane/ So Gordon finds out Bats true identity, Bat prepares to fight Bane? (tho he "appears scared") where does Seliena Kyle fit into all of this? Does Batman die? (as alot of people have been thinking) come on people, NERD RANT NERD RANT NERD RANT!! [thumbup] |

In comic lore, Bane defeated Batman by breaking his back and Bane was eventually defeated by another character. I highly doubt they'll follow that same exact arc since it's too long and complicated for the movie, but we'll see. Bane is also one of the few enemies who discovered Batman's real identity.
I find it unlikely that Batman dies, but I am sure Nolan will do it proper justice in that event and not use it just as a shock factor. Looking forward to it in any case. |

The links keep getting removed!! Why is warner bros so determined to get rid of all the teaser trailers links that have been posted? Its already out people who saw harry potter got to see it! I dont get it [no] But Honestly. Does anyone think there is any way Harry Potter could be anything but a Money Maker? its the last in a series of successful films. With a Rabid fanbase. You could stamp the name Harry Potter on pile of crap, by the time people realised it was a pile of crap the studio would still be already be profiting. Not that I think HP7 is going to be crap. I'm going to see it Monday. IMAX 3d baby. |

I love 3D if it's done right. And you do have a choice you know. It's not like movie theaters force you to watch a movie in 3D. When a big film is out at the biggest cinema in my city, a 14 screen imax cinema, a lot of the time you ONLY get the option to see it in either 3D or imax. It is BS, it costs way more for something I really don't prefer. I was forced to watch Transformers 3 in 3D (being forced to watch it in any way would have been bad enough), because it was the main film on and only in 3D or imax 3D. The tickets are so much more expensive, its a total rip-off, I hate it. It wasn't even done properly at all in 3D unlike the only other film I've seen in 3D, Avatar which seemed like they had made quite a big effort with. Edit - Oh yeah, and The Dark Knight won't be in 3D. Nolan doesn't feel it would suit the movie and I agree with him 100%. |

IMAX films here are exactly $1 more. Maybe I'm spoiled because I all but refuse to see a movie on a regular screen for such a tiny cost difference. The IMAX theater by me is rated one of the best in the US. The only IMAX theater I've personally been to that beats it is the concave screen in the Museum of Science and industry. Aka the OMNI theater. Amazing experience, best theater ever. Nearly 180* field of view with a surround system second to none. |

IMAX films here are exactly $1 more. Maybe I'm spoiled because I all but refuse to see a movie on a regular screen for such a tiny cost difference. from wiki A digital version debuted in 2008. The new system is a projection standard only. Digital IMAX systems can show either 2D or 3D content in DCI or IMAX digital format (which in itself is a superset of DCI). The digital system alleviates the need for film reels and facilitates inexpensive distribution of IMAX features. One big disadvantage is much lower resolution than normal IMAX film, estimated to be about 12,000 × 8,700 theoretical pixels or 6,120 × 4,500 actually discernible pixels.[30] The digital installations have produced some confusion based on poor consumer differentiation to the traditional 15/70 IMAX. though being in Canada, it could be a true IMAX. But, if it is same screen size as typical film and not a giant screen that is considerably taller than normal, it isn't real. |

well, real imax here is ~$8 more, fake imax ~$3 back where I grew up in michigan, regular theatres were getting around the $9 mark. A new theatre was built and had an IMAX. They charged $6 for regular screens and 11-12 for IMAX. 5-6 more, but only for that theatre. So then people thought.. "HMMM, I can go where I always do for 9$, or pay an extra $2 at the new place on a freakin IMAX!!" within a year, the other theatres dropped their prices down around $6.50. Here in wisconsin nearest imax I think is in green bay, but they have an ultrascreen, that is a couple bucks more, but nobody tries to claim it being an imax, or what you would call fake imax. |
