Ferny S/H Experiment

I like ferns and thought I'd try S/H on one that needed some reviving after a bit of neglect. This is Adiantum tenerum 'Pacific May', which has fimbriated leaves. Early days yet but it seems to be happy for now and it's fun looking at the new roots!

Great idea -- ferns love water!

I wouldn't have thought of that, but looks like they will do well.

Pretty much anything will grow in semi-hydro culture, if done properly. Ferns take to is so well they become a nuisance in the greenhouse - "companion" plants whose roots will choke out an orchid.

Hmmm, why not use diatomite/rockwool, or some other more moisture retaining material?
