Wow, you must be old!
![]() Stay away from italian and french cars. They're crap, and repairing them costs more than you think. For example for replacing a headlight bulp Peugeot wants 30€, Volvo on the other hand 12€. Not that I'd need a garage for that, but your daughter might when she's not anywhere near you. Anyway, I'd have a look for Toyotas, the Ford Fiesta or Focus, or Hondas. Anything from 2005, with a mileage of 80.000km or less. If the inspections were always done properly, they last forever. |

Wow, you must be old! I drove both a few times and I'd recommend one for a first car, but the facelifted version after 2001. That or a corsa or fiesta would be good. I'd definitely avoid the Ford KA after seeing what happens to them in accidents and the Kia will do absolutely nothing for her street cred (with 4k cash to spend you can afford to get her something that her mates won't mind being seen in). |

Kia Picanto is a good car, get the option with the alloys and metallic paint and its a nice looking well built car.
The new Chev Spark is good too, looks nice much improved over the previous model. VW Polo is also a good car, the build quality is outstanding for its class, though might be too pricey for what you want to spend, though a demo 1.2L model might be reasonable. Let her buy one herself |
