Haha, well that was a long night, i was one of two people working behind the bar, it was absolutely PACKED, so many people were whining about it taking ages for us to get to them |:

Also one of my friends cheered when USA scored. Alot of people weren't impressed. At all. |:

So I work as a bartender at a pub.

My shift starts just before the england football game tonight.

I hate football. Whats worse is my boss wants me to wear an england shirt. Im not even really english (all of my family is south african, i was born over here though, does that count?) Regardless i dont have england shirts.

This is going to be a lame night.
I'd imagine more/higher tips than usual?

I know loads of people that don't generally like watching football, but I have honestly never met anyone in real life who didn't get a bit excited by the world cup.

I don't even slightly care about the world cup. If it was the rugby world cup however, thats a completely different story.

Huh? I get quite a bit of tips/drinks bought for me. I got like £9 odd of tips on my last 5 hour shift, and a couple of drinks bought for me (which get printed on a reciept and i can use them whenever i want) some girl bought me a drink cause she liked my hair hah.

It wasn't a criticism, just an observation. I don't really care about rugby but I do feel good when we do well internationally.

In the US (in my experience), tipping is mandatory on every order - rather different to here. Obviously restaurants are different, but that's why I stated barstaff.

I could never work as a barman ever again.

I would be a right ******* to the piss-head customers,and the lippy wide-boy's...

I'd be happy to serve old people though, as most of them have interesting stories,I used to work in a pub when I was a wee nipper and I got to know quite a few veterans and they told me quite a few stories.

I think most of them (if not all) are dead now though,so its was a honour to listen to them

got to shag quite a few birds too in my time as a barman,I even shagged the landlords daughter, and I was made a pass at by a few poofters too (I was very attractive as a youngern).

All I can suggest is putting a bet on, at least it'll make the night interesting for you. : )

My guess is 3-1 to England.
