Least favorite tv show

I just recently had the ill pleasure of seeing a tv program I found disgusting, Operation Repo on Tru Tv. I don't really understand why this is called entertainment. I know people should pay for things, but this show really pokes fun at the misfortune of others. Some of these people may have had things in their life that caused them to be in financial turmoil. I'll bet the people on there have long criminal histories. It's sad what is on pay tv anymore. You pay good money to be able to watch infomercials when you can't sleep. You pay for programs rammed with commercials.

I never had time to watch tv until an illness kept me at home for a while. Can't believe some of the stuff kids watch.Where are the good ole days?

i know half these shows are pure trash, they even switch the cartoon channel at night to some explicit cartoons... and still don't understand the whole sponge bob show i don't allow my kids to watch it he's either half naked or doing things that i don't approve off, yo pose a a good question what happen to the good ole days? what happen to parents who really cared about the welfare of their child ? what happen to it all what a world we live in now a days....

2nd Timothy, chapter 3 verses 1 through 5.

1st John chapter 5 verse 19.

Demonic influence...we're dealing with it every day. Many people believe Satan is just an abstract evil.
The Bible says he is a real person with many demonic angels behind him, roving about the earth.
If the Holy Scriptures say he is the ruler of this world, I think he must have a hand in influencing our technology, business and governments....all to no good.
So we really must be very cautious in our dealings everyday.

I've heard it said, Every generation gets a little further away from God. Maybe that's true.

its already been written does not mean we have to take it laying down.

Without light equals darkness

I think that maybe it is hard for people to believe in God in the midst of so much suffering. With all today's technology, we see the suffering of others from all over the world. It's inescapable and certainly makes me question: Where is god in this?

I used to have much more faith. It's been tough for me to hold on to it though.

Anyway, I find it hard to watch "Goodwife" cuz it reminds me too much of my life. lol. But it's a pretty good show.

I have not always been close to God, but since the whole mess with the former deacon, school, teenage daughter and health issues....I am hanging on to him with every thing I have.

Joyce showed me that you don't have to be meek, mild and a pushover to be a Christian. Her mouth is huge just like mine. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/biggrin.gif

That's my feeling on it all too -- I'm a bit tired of the old "god's will be done" statement that people say when they don't get what they wanted but they forget that they failed to actually GO AFTER whatever it was. I mean, seriously -- if you want it, name it and claim it. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/biggrin.gif

I still think his will be done, but if what you desire is in line with where you should be, doing what you should be doing and seeking him first....his desire is to give you what you desire. I have been on the receiving end recently of those things that were not only my desire, but his will.

I’m not a fan of reality television at all. Most of it is basically garbage that isn’t worth watching or people doing stuff to make a fool out of themselves on national television. I can’t understand why anybody would even want to do any of that stuff.

Personally, I’d rather have a well scripted and acted show. I really hate all of the shows that seem to deal around the center theme of the main characters infidelity, promiscuity and immorality. It’s the center theme of a lot of shows anymore. I have enough of that in real life, I don’t need it in make believe land. Of course that limits the shows I will watch.

As fort he theological aspect of this thread, I’m going to leave that untouched.

I agree with you, foresaken man. I can't abide reality tv. I particularly hate survivor and the bachelor/ette series.

I also hate toddlers and tiaras, although I admit I watched that trainwreck once.

I hate those TLC shows that make a spectacle of people (like, the 1 tonne man episodes or the shows about the mermaid girl who recently passed). I find them insensitive and exploitive.

I love a good drama. I love well written shows.

And, actually, I like shows with a hint of darkness. I need characters that are troubled..and who don't always have it together.

I used to really like the show LIFE but it was cancelled.
