Who gets a vacation and posts on here about it? Is this a big deal? I mean, granted, I have never had a vacation in my working career... most of my previous employers simply didn't honor my accrued vacation time and it was always a struggle to get them to pay it out to me with my last paycheck. That is just because employers are dicks.
From my understanding though, vacation is pretty standard in the American workplace. Nothing unique enough to post about on Apolyton. |

I said vacation is pretty standard in the American workplace. I believe Krill is from the British Isles... I'm not sure what they do over there. I think taking time out from work for tea every day must significantly pro-rate their annual vacation time. Krill clearly made daily sacrifices that likely caused him to be ostracized in British society to enable his vacation.

2 weeks paid vacation is standard in any half way decent job. ![]() I'm up to four already, which I think is pretty good for 26. ![]() Plus 10 paid personal days per year (sick days/**** this im going to the mountains days/appointment days/etc). I don't think people realize, you can ask for more than they offer you when you get job offers. You don't need to blindly accept. |

I don't think I've ever had any less than 5 weeks holidays in my entire life. The best I've managed so far is 37 days holiday a year. Plus I've never worked anywhere where they have a limit on the amount of days you can have sick and still be paid.
The crazy thing is though, that the British are deemed the hard workers of Europe in terms of time spent in the office - I'm seriously considering learning German and moving there for their holidays. Or Finnish! ![]() |
