Are there any reports of the progress of the establishment of the Western Rite in England? The project is being undertaken by the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad under the supervision of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion.

I am told by Fr Michael (Wood) that everything is going fine, with new missions being established and discussions with several existing groups underway.

Christ is Risen!

Pleased to hear it. I was asking because it is reported by Fr Michael that he has 4 priests willing to come to the UK to work in the Western Rite mission and I wondered what news there is. I pray that the Lord is using him for the benefit of the English. The matter needs our prayers. I recall that back in 1998 it was thought that there would be 6 WR parishes established in Australia with 6 priests. I remember this because Fr Michael reported it on the Indiana list under the whimsical title of "Orthononsense and Jurisdictionland."

Would abbatial status allow him, in the WR, to be invested with mitre and crosier?
