I'm thinking about freezing my credit card in a block of ice. My wife saw it on that movie Shopoholic or whatever it's called. Because I still do need one credit card incase of emergency, specially with a new baby. But I wouldn't need access to it in my wallet at all times.

One of the benefits of getting older, you tend to make more money. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...on_mrgreen.gif

401K at your age is awesome Greg! Even if you're only matching a low percentage (2-3%) it's free money from your employer and who could ever say no to that. I started 401K when I was 20 years old. However I made some dumb moves by pulling it out to pay for college bills a few years later. I built it up again and recently rolled over from my previous employer. Now I watch it every day for changes. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...on_mrgreen.gif

fluistulkn 02-27-2009 05:42 PM

if you need to buy it, buy it. your a young guy and can always make more cash. spend it now because you cant spend it when your dead. just dont be dumb.

corey, do you ever ride your trek at the kettle moraine mountain bike trails?

angeldimmon 02-27-2009 05:51 PM

How can you say "401K" and put a smiley after it these days?

Mine has dropped about 30K in the last year alone...and I've invested
in the 'safe' stuff! LOL

Remember... money WON'T buy you happiness
but it's a lot easier to cry in an SRT than in a Yugo http://www.wisrts.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.png

Unrersvar 02-27-2009 06:03 PM

yeah, my internship will kick in 3%. pretty sweet. At least a couple extra hundred bucks a year!

And yes, money =/ happiness. It does, however, help kill boredom.

Amomiamup 02-27-2009 06:34 PM

ive had my 401k since 20 as well(only 22 now) but starting early is a great idea! First couple months i had my car i made the mistake of using credit cards for some parts and I quickly learned not to do that, i paid them all off and pay for everything in cash now, it's much easier that way, i've got credit cards but all but one have a 0 balance, working on paying off the last one right now, soon to have only a car payment, insurance, and 100 a month for my iphone:D then i'll pay the neon off and buy a new DD, if i get the car i want i feel it may possibly the most badass DD EVAR! haha

I sure do, we ride the Bug line in the summer. I have hybrid tires on my moutain bike, clip-ins, so we do ~10-15 miles on any given night during the summer. This summer will be different since the wife' is prego.

There is a sweet trail that starts right by Willow Run near my house that goes to downtown Delafield. I haven't done the entire thing yet, but that is fun in the summer too. Goes right by Pewaukee Lake.

Boy I feel like I'm slow when I have a $5,000 or less credit card bill to pay each month luckly it's taken out of the bank each month so no interest sucky part 90% isn't for me but cool part is the cash is. (Computer repair business)
Lucked out on taxes again even didn't have to pay in didn't get squat back which is the best thing for a business. The sales tax was a killer but thats suppose to mean I did well :D
401k has been better then I thought even though it hasn't been making any either it's still with my old employer for 4 years now.
I'm trying to be tight so another car can be in the driveway but having too much fun redoing two rooms in the house. O'well both will be done in time :D
Bought a nice moutain bike which is a 24" Mongoose http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/icon_lol.gif 21 speed with twist shifting dual suspension 6 years ago lucky if I put 4 miles on it. Gotta get some use out of it this year

MediconStop 02-27-2009 08:31 PM

i don't owe on anything; and i've had a 401k since 19-20. I've been putting into it for a while, my company is cool, usually matching up to around 8% + some other contributions they put in on our behalf.

I don't make a ton (not a g a week but not bad for my age). Hopefully after reviews this year I might be in shape to buy a house next year.
