So I watched it on Youtube just now....

I liked it. Its not the real thing, but its still a lot of fun. Nowhere near as funny, but I think thats the proper way to start, because if they tried to be too funny too early they'd just look retarded. I like the guy who drove the XTrail most I think...

I like it and hope it improves.

Some things I didn't like was that they didn't show the track (They should have introduced the viewers to it) and they didn't explain who the star in a reasonable priced car was.

Oh, and the Rav4 skidding its front wheels in snow is EXACTLY what I've been complaining about in On-Demand AWD systems forever!

Also, they should have chosen the Forester Turbo to take on the Rav4, and given the comparisson a conclusion...

***** SPOILER AHEAD **************

FPV F6 vs HSV GTS Comparisson: The Holden beats the Ford because the F6 has turbo lag off the line.

Should be a fun show to watch.

I HATE how people rite 'spoiler ahead' yet keep the writing the same. If you really need to tell us what happens then you make your writing white and tell people to highlight it. Enough from ****ty me though.

The Aussie TopGear mag is hopeless, and the show is even worce. They have tried so hard to copy the origional to a tee, without being origional or trying to re-create it. You can't have an Aussie version and keep it the same, it rips on us as Australians and the awesome origional...SBS must be groapable.

well it didnt win... i hate how they said that they "both won". they also said the ford beat the holden in the drag race~ at least they could drift...

anyways, my 2 cents: better jokes than last time like the Jag/LR bit but the Smart hearse was just a waste of time. if this was the UK TG, they would have BUILT something stupid with some scrap metal or done it proper... not just sticking a few towel racks on it. poor effort. the ford gt was awesome tho, especially when it spat out flames in between shifts...

Gah, I diodn't like it actually.

I'm now sick of them sitting on the fence all the time.

F6 vs GTS = Tie
Xtrail vs Rav4 vs Forester = Tie
Navarra vs Falcon ute = tie...

seriously.

And the Smart hearse was painfully retarded.

Yeah not liking it.

And Hornbag will be glad that I didn't spoil the HSV vs FPV comparisson in the end because the guy who told me that the HSV won was wrong.

I lol'd when I saw the sausages on him... if you saw it, what did you think???

Probably youtube, at some point within the next few hours...

I missed it (Actually I have to miss every episode for a while as I have stuff on at the same time) But someone said it was alright, so I'm looking forward to catching it on youtube later (Where I see all topgear stuff anyway).

I'm sure they'll re-air it sometime~ also forgot to mention that it really bugged me when the host said "Porsche" like 5 times in a row but pronounced it like Porsh... grrrrrr!!! You guys will see when you watch it.

The two supercars were 2 of my faves. Oh and its really funny what they got The (might I say very slightly more plump) Stig to drive around the track and also what Charlie did with his Rav V6~ don't want to give it away tho! Can't wait till the next episode... Ford v. Holden powersliding madness!!! At least thats what it looks like from the preview!

EDIT: Looks like the whole episode is uploaded on the TG Australia website, although its quite small~ http://www.sbs.com.au/topgearaustralia/

EDIT 2: OK its only parts of it so don't bother lol~

Pretty below average to say the least... sh!t track, inconclusive reviews/tests, lose the Stig "some say he's..." bit, oh I can't be bothered to type anymore, looking forward to next season of original TG.

It's copping a hammering over at the Finalgear Forums

To be honest, I thought it was bad. Everything looks to much like original. Studio looks exactly the same, reviews too. Everything from their clothes to acting is exactly the same. If you are going to do your own version of TG, at least do it differently, in your own way. Don't just copy everything and try to act like the original TG.

I mean, at least change your clothes, don't dress up exactly like the original TG guys.

Oh and that guy's voice is SO ANNOYING! (Charlie C?) Nothing can beat the original TG, I hope 2nd episode will be better. IMO, didn't really like it. If this is what the US TG will looks like, I am not watching it. My personal opinion, no need to bash me.

Interesting thoughts.

Some of my car-lover friends at uni thought it was better than expected, and they are only disliking the fact that the stage was just the same. However they were pretty possitive about it.

Without having seen it, would you say that you watched the thing knowing it would be ****? Or expecting very little of it? Or what was your attitude towards it?

Cant wait to see what its like myself...

I watched it and expected something like one of those cheap car shows where they are given the cars as long as they praise it... I remember watching an Aussie show when the new Falcon came out and they didn't say one thing about it... if it were me I would have at least mentioned the fuel consumption or something but yeah... I expected something along those lines. I guess I'm sorta happy cos i'm getting at least SOME sort of Top Gear lol...

As I said in my first post, its not great, but better than I had expected...

I loved the Smart hearse thing! Funniest thing I've seen in ages. This week wasn't too bad, but the Astra thing was a cheap take on the Toyota Ago soccer, if still pretty funny. It's getting a lot better, they are trying less to be like the UK guys and being themselves more, and their stig jokes are now actually funny. If they can now start seriously testing cars, telling me how they handle and drive and ride etc, as apposed to just saying 'that's a tie' and playing around with them, I'll be very happy. The magazine is still lagging though...
