That's me. A square wheel! Meh, you got a good point there. I'd go insane if I'd have to watch 'The Bold and the Beautiful' 'Dr. Phil' and 'Oprah' all day!

While I do enjoy my current job and where I work, someday (in the near future) I hope to become a sportscaster, analyst, or anything remotely related to sports. Believe it or not, my passion for sports is beyond belief, stemming from way back to as young as I can remember.
This topic reminded me, actually, sigh...I should have applied to the 'Dream Job' with ESPN

It would probably be to be a car designer as I have been drawing cars since I was young but the drawings are not good enough to make that a reality.
So now Im deciding between two paths, one to get a mba and work myself to a high level position in a automotive company or become a docotor and make a lot of money and buy the different cars I want.

super, i too want to be an automotive journalist, too. im not sure how down to earth that dream for me is, but its not to far above the ground, i dont htink. ive always been a rather good writer, and i know a lot of the guys who are automotive journalists actually have engineering degrees and all too, which is kind like a side im working toward also
i mean i really enjoy physics, and i love understanding how things work, the only part of engineering im not crazy abouyt is theres a lot of math, but physics is kind of math too, and im pretty good at that, i think its once variables are replaced with real variables (you know like instead of X and Y, and that being all you know of the variables, its like S, and you know it means speed, and like kg, and all it just makes it click in my mind)
i dont know, but thats what id really like to do with my life is become an automotive journalist, and if that fails id like to have a degree in automotive engineering so maybe that can take me soem where pretty cool. basically im determined to work with cars though, b/c as ive worked numerous (though minimum wage jobs , which naturally suck) jobs ive realized i couldnt handle most jobs, i just wouldnt enjoy it, and lifes no fun if you dont enjoy what you do, and i really think unless im workign with cars i wouldnt really enjoy work

Like others on here, I've thought of being a car salesman. Although I am a persuasive person, it just seems like a really slimey business and that's not the work I want to get involved in. However, I made a vow to myself that my work would be involved with cars in one way or another. Recently, I've been thinking about being an analyst for the automotive industry. I really like keeping up with the automotive industry and what's going on in the different companies, so I think that if I put those skills to work then I can be successful. We'll see...
And in the case that I do become a multimillionaire, maybe I'll treat everyone to their dream car...a scale model of it!

oh c'mon, you definitely have the ability! (and you too knihc) either of you would make great designers IMO...

If I had half your discipline and dedication, maybe. I'm sure you'll make a great designer, bro

Yeah all you wanna-be car designers, GET TO WORK!!! We need some more innovation in the car industry and many here who chop/sketch definitely have potential! Maybe, in a few years, I can buy a car designed by one of you guys and be like "I knew the person who designed this car."

There is an almost certain chance that you will see a car designed by someone you knew...
Everone has the ability to become one, but you just have to beleive in yourself and work really hard.
Even though i dont post much, and dont show my designs like others, i am sure i could become a car designer and everyone else should think they could become one too.
I have drawing etc. in my blood too, but that doesnt really matter.
I have quite some time to improve and study etc.
With an older brother i have seen how hard you have to work with GCSE's and A Levels...so yeah...
My aim to become a car designer is still as important since the first time i thought, "When i grow up, i want to become a car designer..."

i would want to be a ceo of an automotive company and base it in new york. my company would be based on opinions of the public and what they realistically want in a car.
another one would be someone who thinks of interesting ideas for big events or something. for example i can help with the design of like the olympic village and brainstorm ideas to the designers.
a third would be to own a major sport franchise. preferable the yankees or ny rangers .
but a realistic job for me would be to write a tv show, or give basic ideas and principles for one or something.

I always said that I wanted to work around cars... and I still think it's true. The deal is, though, I needed to do something where I could always have a job no matter what...
So I went to nursing school.
Every day I deal with the one thing that I love more than cars--people. And just like cars, every one of them is different, they all have different needs, different problems, and they all have a story to tell.
Plus, I make more money than I could ever earn doing anything that I'm capable of doing with cars... and I can use that money to restore/improve my cars (especially my hearse!) So I may not have the job I thought I always wanted, but I ended up with something that works better for me.
So for me, dream job = nursing.

Ideally I would love to be a car designer or a music producer (which is close to becoming reality as i've just passed a course in music technology and production)
Next best job - Working for Autocar magazine as a features writer. Or working for FHM magazine as a photographer
At the moment I work for a train company and it sucks. It pays well though, which means i'm stuck here at the moment as I have a HUGE HUGE mortgage!

I want to be an kid when I grow up.
But seriously, I usually tell people I want to be a car designer. I took two extra math courses and three computer drafting courses in high school (using a program called CadKey). I've had some pretty good ideas for a while now. Now if only I could draw...
