whew this epi was a doozie. just a heads up to everybody: if u ever get a chance, take a look at mr eko's left shoulder. there seems to be some sort of faint design on it and it kind of looks like a circle with things in the circle....dharma seal? i think so but i have a lot of crazy opinions about this show.

here is one for you to mull over: according to the tape in the island teh Hanso Foundation funded the Dharma Initiative, which in turn created station 3 amnogs (at least 2) others. The hanso foundation is the biggest purveyor of High technology weaponry to Nato and it's owner is constantly looking for ways to help the evolution of the human race.
In yesterday's episode, ana lucia remarked that the knife used by the dead "other" was old standard issue US army. In the US the research arm of the military is called The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). It manages and directs selected basic and applied research and development projects for the US department of defense, and pursues research and technology where risk and payoff are both very high and where success may provide dramatic advances for traditional military roles and missions. I find it interesting that Dharma has a strong connection to the military and has a very similar sounding name to DARPA. My guess is that DHARMA is an accronym for something and that many of it's letters coincide with those in DARPA and that the H stands for Human. Anyone care to take a crack at deciphering it? Also, If you assum that there are at least 3 stations, and that station 3 is obviously the swan, did any of you notice yesterday that the bunker the tailies discovered was also a dharma site, but it's logo wasn't the swan, but rather an arrow within the octagon. Site 1 or 2 perhaps? Lastly, since we know that the others are part of the dharma initiative (the 2 founding grad students that appear in the tape were in the boat that kidnapped walt - only considerably older), my guess is that they are at another dharma site on the island. I also think that they aren't anywhere near as powerful as the folks from the plane think they are - notice how the tailies took out 4 of them with relative ease, and how there is no evidence that the others have actually hurt any of the kidnaped people. |
