There are no special lease rates published (I recall only the special 2.9% financing rates for qualified buyers in the northeast region) so I would guess the standard least rates apply, perhaps around $399, depending on trims, options, credit score, lease terms, and other factors. Just with your local dealer to be sure though.
I don't know if you dad has his eye set on the Lucerne, if so, then he's getting a very good car. Otherwise, and if he has a bit of time, I would suggest he car-shop the other ones in the class. There are some really nice cars out there, including newcomers such as the Lucerne, Avalon and Azera (while on the subject - $299 special introductory lease rates ) - I happened to have test driven all three recently and I would recommend them all - each with its highs and lows but in the end, can't go wrong with any

The trick with leasing is to lease something that will hold value. A Lucerne will not be such a car whereas a Lexus or BMW would. Buy the Buick at cut rate financing or go with the Hyundai and do a walk away at the end.

my dad doesnt "shop around" . he finds something he wants and sticks only with that. He's had his eyes on buick for a couple of years now. first he wanted the rendezvous then the lacrosse now the lucerne.

have any reliability reports been published for the new passat? my dad and i went to the auto show today, and he said that when he gets a new car, there are four cars he's narrowed it down to: the toyota highlander and camry (the new camry i guess since he says he's not getting a new car for a year or two), honda accord, and volkswagen passat. i know he really likes the highlander since he's said that's the kind of car he wants, but i think it's narrowed down to the sedans mostly. he likes the accord and the camry (accord more so) but says his favorite (and mine) is the passat. and it really is a nice car, apart from the price (a little under $25k with an auto, although haggling and incentives would doubtlessly bring that down a bit) and requirement of premium fuel. another impediment to buying a passat would be reliability. VW has had a spotty record in that respect, and i was just wondering, have there been any reliability reports for the passat (more likely in europe, i'd guess)? if in europe, how would they compare to, say, a toyota avensis or honda accord?

Ok guys. Time for some serious help. Hell has frozen over and my dad is insane. Even though he does make sense.
This week, we are going to either finance or lease a new car. we're not sure yet. The payments can be no higher than $300 a month and the down payment has to be $2000 or less. But that will have to be worked out with the dealer. Anyway, my dad is keeping his freelander so that he can have more fun and get a RWD car as well. He wants to get either a dodge magnum or a dodge charger. I don't think he would get the R/T because the pricing for those would come out to be too expensive. So proabably an SXT or the one below it. So my question now is, which one should i push for? the Magnum or the Charger? These two cars are very similar and dont have that many differences in powertrain so either way its a win-win situation. But im sort of leaning towards the charger because i'd much rather drive around in a charger than a magnum when i get my permit next month =].

also, he really wants the LR2. He thinks its soo nice. But the local LR dealer said they wont be in till march or april of 2007. so he'll get that when it comes out as well.

well the magnum is basically a charger with a large trunk so if you think you are going to need to haul a lot of stuff with you then get the magnum, and vice versa for the charger.

On a side note, I went to Concord Motorsport (BMW's and Mini's) with a friend and I would like to say that mini's are incredibly over-priced.
I have begun to look at replacing my wagon before I go to college (well, my brother would get it) with something more fuel efficent. Two years is a ways off, and I can put some of my money away to maybe cover a down payment.
While 26 MPG is nothing to scoff at in the land of Super Sized SUVs, I'd like something that can get in to the 30's or more.

Between the Magnum and the Charger, just get the one with the better deal... I would assume to be the Magnum because it doesn't really sell as well as the Charger. No difference between the two really, except I hear the Charger has horrid blind spot problems (Well, so does the Magnum, but not as badly).

well my dad called a local dealer and they said that theyre not offering leases on either of them! which i was very surprised by.
financing would be beneficial because of the employee pricing plus thing.

we are either going to buy or lease. but dodge doesnt have any "special" leasing rates going on so its pretty much not worth it.

ok, screw the dodges lol. my dad knows someone who works high up for infiniti & he can get a good discount so apparently we MIGHT be getting one of those. if anything, it'll be the g35 coupe or sedan. but ill keep everyone informed. we may be going car shopping tomorrow but im not positive.

idk. he doesnt want to wait. plus he's not much of a person to care about a new car coming out in the future to replace something thats out now. he see's something he likes and he goes for it. he doesnt care about horsepower, fuel economy, reliability. he just gets a car based on its styling. its dumb i know but thats just the way he his. his 98 ford explorer was purchsed brand new and it was a lemon. now he will never buy a ford again. thats how his mind works.
