Thought this video also went along with the theme.

Yep, on one of the biggest screens in the Southern Hemishere at the time. Next night I made some friends see it as well - they were somewhat 'under the influence' of illicit substances and were totally into it and freaking out in bits.
Haven't seen any other movie with such an impressive start - first the rebel space craft and then the Imperial Destroyer that just come on, and on, and then seemed to end but was just an opening before it continued on. |

The first Star Wars movie I remember watching is The Empire Strikes Back, on a small CRT television. I was maybe 7 or so, was lost half the time, and was totally aghast at the unresolved ending*. But despite all that I was transfixed by the mythical quality of it and...the millennium falcon.
*I remember thinking "man, this movie is really long" then BAM the closing scene happened. It was weird because I felt sad not knowing if/when I'll be able to finish the story and yet glad I saw the movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9C8bi...tailpage#t=72s |

Oh, also remember being pissed of when they used 'parsec' as a unit of time when it's really a measure of distance (~ 3 1/4 light years). Sloppy!

Oh, also remember being pissed of when they used 'parsec' as a unit of time when it's really a measure of distance (~ 3 1/4 light years). Sloppy! Races from point A to B are not always about raw speed. Take Endurance racing it’s about navigation skills and cutting down distance travelled. |

Pottsey, did you read the link? It's basically showing why trying to justify the use of the line doesn't work - besides, IIRC, the context was about how fast it was, not his navigation skills.
The other thing about the link is that the AU is assuming identical mass to Sol, any variation will increase or decrease that of Coruscant - not to mention the suggested variation in the day length. |
