Consider this....

Any water source is recycled, Our sewage always finds its way out to sea. Your drinking your own piss anyway you look at it.

so where do you think tap water comes from then ? glacial formations resovoirs that are formed naturally from artesian wells ?

most of its reclaimed
Your black and white vision doesn't half make a fool of you sometimes.

Recycled water is used for certain things in the UK but it's not classed as potable so it doesn't come out of drinking taps directly.

Water is a finite source so obviously all of it will have been reused at some point but potable water in the UK isn't deliberately recycled sewage.

All potable water is also treated to a far higher standard than water for domestic use.

I got my information from several sources (including government website, thames water, water uk and wikipedia). Where did you get yours? Oh yeh, you made it up and now you're going to cover your arse by saying "I get you every time mate". Which gets less and less believable as a cover every time you say it.

Using liberal amounts of alcohol will help kill any bugs - in the past they just drank gin instead [thumbup]

And rum, wine*, port, etc - lots of things.
"Mother's ruin" refers to the affects of wholescale consumption of gin (Gordon's preferably ) in London, when much of the water was supplied by unhealthy artesian wells, which was why I used that in my comment.

*used in biblical times - around 1/5th (IIRC) wine and 4/5ths water to kill the germs. The references to "strong wine" were referring to pure wine, without water.

But they weren't drinking gin because of the impurity of the water, as was the case with beer. Beer was basically a water substitute. They even gave it to kids.

Yup, small beer, and no, it wasn't called that because it was given to small children.

May be of interest - http://www.historic-uk.com/CultureUK/MothersRuin.htm

Treated so much you get a chloride after taste. Tap water in a Britta filter FTW. Just this side of the country the water is very hard so tastes like crap without a filter anyway.
Tap water down in the south is pretty atrocious. Tastes fine up here

for those who dont know the running `joke`:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3523303.stm

Soft drink giant Coca-Cola has admitted it is selling purified tap water in a bottle.
It says the source for its new Dasani bottled water is the mains supply at its factory in Kent. and someone who used to work there said they basically had a huge water filter and poured tap water in one end and then fill the bottles to sell - and they didnt even need to ever change the filter the water was that good

No lol. We had a running joke years ago that it was Tidy Sammy's dad, a pro lawnmower racer. I wish I could find the original pic that the sig was made from, it's disturbing/funny...
Is it that one? http://p4.focus.de/img/gen/Q/G/HBQGA...en_r_Ax354.jpg

I model Wastewater systems for a living i prefer this version

Similar things can be said for rain water as well as that abstracted (love the use of the word for that meaning) from groundwater.

Where I live our water comes from very large fresh water lakes which are then filtered. We have fresh water lakes all over Australia. I don't think any of it is recycled waste (like crap and urine). There was a debate to do this but was turned down in favour of desalination plant.
