Default iPad to galaxy s2 tethering
Will this work? Seems to be a load of 10 year olds discussing it on the internet and talking rubbish. [cursing]

I guess if you use wi-fi tethering then the ipad will be able to use it like any other hotspot.

You would think, but I've seen a few people saying it's not possible and I can't test it right now.

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to use the Galaxy S2 as an access point and connect the iPad via wifi tethering. Seems pretty straight forward to me.

The only problems I see if if you have a carrier that charges for tethering ability in which case you would need to a) purchase the ability, or b) root the phone and use another wifi tethering app. I use Wifi Tether myself.

If it doesn't work, then I would be suspicious of Apple not following 802.11 standards on the iPad.

Me neither, which is why the nerds of the world are confusing me on Google!

As for not supporting standards, the iPad definitely supports connecting to a hotspot...

If I enable hotspot on my Desire HD, our iPad can connect to it.

That's good enough for me as both are android.
