What's the best way to make the android keyboard behave like the iPhone keyboard? I am used to it and keep making mistakes on the android one. Plus, Android doesn't seem to have any intelligence about what word you are really trying to type. For example, on iPhone if you are typing REMEMBER and hit R R M E M B E R it would know that you meant to hit E on the second key press.

You have to sign up first as it's still in beta. But I agree, couldn't ever go back now I've been using swype for a while and it's picked up my little texting quirks. Even my friend who really doesn't get on with touchscreens found it really simple to use. |

Yes, you will love Swype with a little practice. It's by far the most efficient means of typing on a virtual keyboard that I have ever had the pleasure of using. Unfortunately, as far as I know, it's only included with Nokia and Samsung phones since those two are substantial investors in the technology. For everyone else, it's in never-ending beta although the product is clearly mature enough for commercial release.
For members who don't happen to have a Samsung phone like you, there are alternatives but I think Swype is better than all of them. If you're desperate for something similar, try SlideIT. |

Honestly Inept, you really need to update that site of yours Or, do you mean that you do not like the site itself? If that's the case, it's not mine. Do a Google Search for Berkshire Hathaway. |

Swype is great it has come a long way from their early betas. If you want a better traditional keyboard I like Better keyboard 8 for speed, response plus better recognition. But SwiftKey is also very good at predicting what word you will use next based on your past typing history.
Like most android keyboards all of these need to be used for a little while before they completely learn your 'style'. |

Swype is freaking awesome! [thumbup]
I've hated having a touch keyboard ever since I swapped my G1 for a Desire, used to be so fast on the full qwerty keyboard but with touch no matter what keyboard app I tried I couldn't get anywhere close to my old speed - until swype! Not sure I'll ever go back to real keyboards tbh ![]() |
